Hey Friend,
Most dads say they'd do anything for their family... Except take care of themselves.
Working overtime. Skipping workouts. Eating whatever's convenient. All in the name of "providing."
But here's the truth: Sacrificing your health isn't noble - it's dangerous.
Because your kids aren't just listening to what you say... They're watching what you do.
And if they see you ignoring your health to take care of others, they'll grow up thinking that's normal. And the cycle continues.
That's why I choose to:
👉 Exercise daily. 👉 Eat to nourish my body, not just to fill it. 👉 Prioritize sleep, movement, and quality time with my family.
Not just for me - but because I want to be here for them.
I want to be strong enough to keep up with my son. To lead by example. To show him what it looks like to take ownership of your health - not just talk about it.
My dad did that for me. He never told me to work out - he just did it. As a kid I saw my dad go for a run everyday after work. In the evening he lifted weights and did push ups, sit up, and pull ups in the basement. And without even realizing it, he shaped my future with positive habits about exercise.
Now it's my turn. And it can be yours too.
If you didn't come from a healthy family, that's not your fault. But if one doesn't come from you - that is.
Start now. Be the father who leads by example.
💪 Here's a list of my daily non-negotiables:
- Daily exercise (I do strength training one day and cardio the next.)
- Protein & veggies with every meal (I strive to hit 200 grams of protein each day.)
- In bed by 10 PM
- Enjoy quality time with my family - eating dinner together, going for walks, bike rides, playing games, etc.
When I do these things, I feel better. I lead better. I live better. And I help ensure my family gets to see the best version of me.
👊 What are your non-negotiables?
