Subject: What IS this? (vertical push-pull for spinal stability)

This is NOT a hypertrophy or strength exercise, in any way, shape, or form.

It's targeted for athletic training and for people looking to improve spinal stability.

It's going to really expose weaknesses in those areas so start light!

The purpose of this exercise is to work the deep muscles of the core (obliques and TVA) and spine (especially the Quadratus Lumborum, which is your spine's primary "anti-tilt" muscle and your spinal erectors) via frontal plan anti-rotation stabilization and what I call "torque management."

Basically, this means it's going to strengthen your body's anti-tilt spinal support muscles and strengthen your ability to transfer force through the deep core muscles, which is a CRITICAL capacity for athletes.
