Subject: Re: Your Immune System...(it's the terrain)

The last words of Louis Pasteur, the father of the "germ theory" of infection, were "The microbe is nothing, the terrain is everything."

For most of his life, he championed the idea that to treat a patient with an infection, you needed to attack the germs directly.

This viewpoint gradually became the accepted viewpoint in mnedicine, even though Pasteur actually rejected this later in his own life, hence his last words.

The alternate viewpoint was put forward by Antoine Bechamp, another French scientist of the same era.

His view was that germs were opportunistic...when the hosts immune system or state of health was such that germs could get a foothold and multiply, they did so, leading to the disease or infection.

In order to treat the patient, he treated the patient, not the germs. And he did so by improving and restoring the overall health of the person rather than focusing on the infection.

Why didn't the "restoring health" approach take root?

Personally, I think it comes down to human nature...it's faster and easier to take a drug or a pill to "take care of it" without having to resort to lifestyle changes.

And absolutely there is a time and place for antibiotics and other treatments.

However, in the current time of pandemics and (I think even scarier) antibiotic-resistant bacteria, making your terrain as inhospitable as possible for germs to take root is absolutely critical to your health and wellbeing.

Eating nutritious, good-quality food, exercising regularly and getting proper sleep are the three big things you can do to keep your immune system functioning well.

I'm also a big fan of supplements, both herbal and nutritional, that work to improve the function of the immune system.

Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, and zinc are three of the most well-known nutrients associated with the immune system.

However, when it comes to herbal formulas, that's where you can go down a bit of a rabbit hole.

My knowledge of herbs is not great, so I go to a company I TRUST for these...one where I actually know the owner personally.

The company is Lost Empire Herbs...I've talked about them many times in the past because I've tested and still use many of their products regularly. The quality is second to none, as is the knowledge they share on how to use them.

Right now, they've just released a new Immune System support tincture called "Chiron Immunity"

You can read more about this stuff here...and it's currently on sale for $5 off.

Not only will you learn about the ingredients, there are 21 references documenting how these ingredients work.

This formula is designed to help your internal terrain be as inhospitable as it can be, keeping opportunistic germs from taking hold.

Check it out here.

Other Products From Lost Empire Herbs

I mentioned that I've tested and take a few of their other supplements...

  • Pine Pollen
  • Phoenix Formula
  • Spartan Formula
  • Hercules Pre-Workout Formula
  • Tongkat Ali

Right now, you can get special deals on these both as individual purchases and packages here.

If you haven't tried their products before, I definitely recommend them.

I will tell you up front, it's all active ingredient in these products...there are no flavorings or fillers in any of it...so if you need something to taste sweet or like chocolate in order to take it, then I would recommend getting the stuff in capsule form.

That being said, if you don't mind "strong" flavors, you'll do just fine.

Check out the deals here.
