Subject: How use a bench and plates to work your calves...

I know my calves are rubbish but I keep trying... :)

This is a bent-knee calf raise done using a bunch of plates stacked on a bench, using the bench as the apparatus.

Now, I've heard the criticism of how the seated calf raise is a useless exercise and in some ways, I agree with that.

The traditional seated calf raise has never really been a good exercise for me. I even had a seated calf raise machine in my basement for awhile, in hopes of trying to find a way to make it work. No luck.

THIS, however, really got into my soleus muscles nicely.
