Subject: Every athlete should try this squat stance (including weekend warriors!)...

Now, I'm good at creating exercises, not naming them ;)

I call this exercise an "Athletic Stance Squat" because that's really all there is to it.

This simple change in foot position changes the focus of the exercise into a more hamstring and glute-dominant version of the squat with (in my experience) less lower back involvement than a regular back squat.

It can really improve power in the "ready" position (a.k.a. athletic stance) so you can spring into action faster.

So in addition to improving athletic performance, this makes it a potential option for those who have issues with the lower back when squatting.

This squat variation is very effective for athletes who want more power in an "athletic stance"..., i.e. every single athlete on the planet...

(And that includes weekend-warrior pick-up basketball or softball, too!)
