The sit-up can actually be a great exercise for developing core strength and for targeting the six-pack abs.

This new variation creates a push/pull dynamic that takes out hip flexors while increasing tension on the six-pack abs (I also found it reduced torque on the lower back compared to regular sit-ups).

I like this one a lot.

Check it out here...it's an advanced exercise but definitely worth trying if you're strong enough in the core to do it!
