| Dear Stargazers,
Today's newsletter is a little late because my vacation - among other things - didn't go quite as planned ;-) It also hasn't been proofread (you've been warned!)
A new episode of Shortcut to the Soul was scheduled for release this past Thursday, August 16. As it happened (or rather as it didn't happen), there was a glitch with the hosting service.
Not only did the episode fail to release, but the media player on my website completely disappeared. Since then, a new one has since been added so you can listen there as well. |
| | Since I was in Washington, DC with my daughter celebrating her birthday that day, there was little I could do about it except blame mercury retrograde.
When I say that life isn't supposed to stop during mercury retrograde, I really mean it. This was the 4th vacation I've taken during a Mercury retrograde cycle, though none were as bumpy as this one.
For starters, our morning flight was canceled. Thankfully, I listened to my intuition and checked the flight status because JetBlue never notified me. We were able to reschedule for a late afternoon flight, which then 3 gate changes and a 4-hour delay (of which almost 2 were spent on the tarmac).
The rest of the trip was characterized with terrible directions, miscommunications and more than one overcharge (which I caught because I was mindful of the energy!)
Although Mercury stationed direct today at 12:25 AM EDT, its energy at the time it stations is very unstable. The return flight home today was also delayed but fortunately only by 35 minutes. Although there were many frustrating and anxiety-producing moments during this trip, in the end everything worked itself out and my little Leo was all smiles on her special day.
Mars Stations Direct
After three long months of dragging its feet, on August 27 transiting Mars will station direct at 28° Capricorn and start creeping forward. Initially, its energy will be very sluggish but as the weeks pass, it will pick up speed and on October 8, it will be back at its usual brisk pace.

| | FULL MOON at 3°12' PISCES

In any given year, the full moon in Pisces is always a significant one. As the 12th and final sign of the zodiac, the full moon in Pisces represents the end of a lunar cycle.
Although all full moons are about endings and releasing what no longer serves us, the Pisces full moon takes it a step further.
You see, it's not just about letting go of something (or someone), it's about surrendering. And yes, there is a difference. When Pisces surrenders, it's not because it has no other choice, and it's not done begrudgingly. There's no ego involved, just faith. It's done willingly and without expectations. It's about saying "thy will be done" and really meaning it.
In this chart, the moon is part of a planetary pattern known as a kite. A kite is a grand trine (three planets with flowing energy that form a triangle) and one of its planets has an opposition to it.
In this chart, the grand trine involves the Sun in Virgo, Saturn in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus, which speaks to an energy that's analytical, practical and productive. Completing the pattern is the intuitive, emotional and compassionate Moon which, while in harmony with Saturn and Uranus, opposes the Sun in Virgo.
Whereas Virgo has plenty of questions, Pisces has an abundance of faith. In that respect, this full moon encourages us to achieve a healthy balance between Virgo doubt ("I'll believe it when I see it") and Pisces faith ("I just believe everything.")
However, what stands out to me in this full moon chart is that the planets forming the grand earth trine fall in the houses of endings (Sun in the 12th, Saturn in the 4th, Uranus in the 8th). This places a heightened emphasis on relinquishing something at this time. |

| | Releasing with the Pisces Full Moon
Once the full moon peaks and the matter is concluded, it's over and the next step is to release any attachment to it. That's why, the period of time between the full moon and the next new moon (the time while the moon is waning or disappearing from sight) is energetically ripe for releasing things from our life.
You can release anything under any full moon, but since this one is saturated in Pisces energy, it's especially helpful for releasing:
Negative beliefs, fears or circumstances related to spirituality, past lives, karma, spending time alone, hospitals, guilt, grief, imprisonment, oceans/bodies of water, mysticism.
Traits or tendencies to be needy, gullible, helpless, dishonest, reclusive, addicted, self-sabotaging, impractical, secretive or manipulative.

Private Facebook Group
Also, as some of you already know, I created a private Facebook group. The reason I created the group is because most of my followers never see my posts. That's because Facebook wants business pages to pay for advertising/promotion. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind boosting a post or paying for additional promotion once in a while, but the way it's set up unless you're investing heavily in FB ads, you get little exposure.
However, it's very different when it comes to groups. If you post in a group, every member who follows you will see it (there are a few options, including one to just see highlights).
Bottom line: If I'm going to continue posting planetary updates and start doing FB Live Events, I want them to be seen. For those of you who might be interested, below is the text from the "About" section.

| | | CLOSING THOUGHTS
Today marks 26 years since my father suddenly passed, I thought I would share one of my favorite photos of him with Laura and favorite stuffed animal (which she named "Barkley.")
My father stopped by almost daily, but he passed three days after her 5th birthday, Laura's memories of him are scant.
However, she clearly remembers him playing on the floor with her and her many (and I mean MANY) stuffed animals.
The last time I saw my father, he was in my basement at around 10 PM. He came over because a pipe had started leaking, and just as we went downstairs, we saw part of the basement ceiling collapse.
After we (I mean he) cleaned up the mess, he turned to me and we just started laughing. Less than 12 hours later he was gone, and to this day I still appreciate how lucky I am to have those moments as my last memory of him.
