 Dear Stargazers,

There's an abundance of planetary action ahead in the coming weeks, but before I discuss the changes ahead, I want to thank those of you who have given the Shortcut to the Soul podcast a 5-star rating and great reviews on iTunes. These ratings/reviews are important because they help the show get discovered by other listeners, so again, thank you for your support.

Speaking of the podcast, in the current episode (Venus Signs), I discuss Venus by sign and house, and in last week's episode, I discussed Moon Signs with my special guest, Maria DeSimone.

Looking ahead, there's a bevy of planetary activity during the coming weeks, including the north node's entry into Cancer. When it comes to the north node, some astrologers use the "true node" while others use the "mean node." The true and mean nodes are just different ways to calculate the speed of the north node. Whereas the mean node is always moving retrograde, on occasion the true node is direct. Which one is better? This is a source of disagreement among astrologers, and there are valid arguments for both sides but the bottom line is that the transit dates for the true node and the mean node routinely vary by a handful of days. I use the true node, so the transit dates I use are different than those of the mean node (which enters Cancer on November 20).

Now let's take a look at what the cosmos have in store for us!
PLANETARY FORECAST

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

Nov. 7, 10, 12, 14

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

Nov. 8 (before 2:00 PM EST)
Nov. 16

NOTABLE ASPECTS

For guidance about these aspects, visit Facebook or Twitter the day before the aspect. Why the day before? Because that's when the energy starts building and the influence starts making itself known.  Once the aspect is exact, the energy is released and the influence fades.

Nov. 06: Sun trine Neptune
Nov. 09: Venus trine Mars
Nov. 11: Sun sextile Pluto
Nov. 15: Mars sextile Uranus

TRANSITING URANUS RETROGRADES INTO ARIES
Nov. 6, 2018 - January 5, 2019 (Rx)
January 6 - March 5, 2018 (Direct)

On November 6, transiting Uranus will return to Aries where it will remain until March 5. This transit is significant because it will be 84 years before Uranus once again visits the sign of the Ram.

Uranus represents self-determination and before it leaves the sign of the Self, we can expect to see major headlines related to fights for individual human rights that will ultimately be resolved while Uranus is in Taurus, the sign that rules our values.
NEW MOON IN SCORPIO
November 7, 2018 | 11:02 AM
Washington, DC

Like all Scorpio new moons, this one holds the promise of renewal as it offers us the opportunity to plant seeds of transformational change.

However, given the lack of strong aspects to this new moon, you may need to use some elbow grease and to help this seed blossom.

The new moon's trine to Neptune in this chart suggests that your dreams for the future come from your higher mind, and its sextile to Pluto suggests it can become a reality. However, while the new moon's square to mars is a provocative aspect that's know for triggering action, its wide orb (10°) weakens its influence.

As a result, your seed could take a little longer to germinate. Moreover, while Mercury doesn't go retrograde until November 16, this new moon is occurring under the influence of its shadow period, the full moon (fruition) that follows on November 23 will happen during the retrograde.

Bottom line: Intentions set at this time may need a helping hand so be sure to nurture them.
Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting this new moon in your chart. If you don't know which house holds 15°11' of Scorpio in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, the new moon falls in your solar 8th house of intimacy, other people's money and support, jointly-held assets and transformation.
Taurus, the new moon falls in your solar 7th house of lawsuits and one-to-one relationships.
Gemini, the new moon falls in your solar 6th house of work, health, service and pets.

Virgo, the new moon falls in your solar 3rd house of siblings, short trips, transportation and all types of communications.
Libra, the new moon falls in your solar 2nd house of money, income, values and self-worth.
Scorpio, the new moon falls in your solar 1st house - it's all about you, including your approach to life and physical appearance.
Sagittarius, the new moon falls in your solar 12th house of solitude, secrets, past lives, healing and psychic abilities.

TRANSITING JUPITER ENTERS SAGITTARIUS
Nov. 8, 2018 - Dec. 3, 2019

On November 8, Jupiter will return home to Sagittarius and those of you born under the sign of the Archer (or have Sag rising) will have reason to celebrate.

If you happen to be born with an Aries or Leo Sun, you also have reason to celebrate because you can expect Jupiter in Sagittarius to be generous to its fellow fire signs.

Likewise, those of you born with a Libra or Aquarius Sun can expect some Jupiter goodness in your life although it's more likely to come in the form of an opportunity that you'll need to recognize and develop. What about the rest of you? Well, the good news about Jupiter is that even its hard aspects can bring something good although there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind to make the most of it.

Of course, there's more to Jupiter in Sagittarius than how well it gets along with your Sun sign. There's also the matter of the house (or houses as the case may be) it will visit in your chart.

As the planet of abundance, Jupiter's primary role is to expand whatever it touches and while that sounds great, it's actually a double-edged sword.

For example, a Jupiter transit in the second house of money can increase how much cash comes in but it can also increase how much of it goes out. While we love to focus on the pros of Jupiter transits, there are also potential cons and it's important to know them so you can work with the energy.

So where can you get the scoop on Jupiter in Sagittarius? It's all in my Jupiter in Sagittarius podcast which will be released this week!
TRANSITING NORTH NODE* ENTERS CANCER
November 6, 2018  - April 21, 2020

On a mundane level, the transiting north node speaks to themes that we experience on a collective level as a nation and as a world. So what does their shift for the next 18 months into Cancer and Capricorn suggest for the future?

Although they seem diametrically opposed, the truth is these two signs are both associated with real property. Although Cancer is the primary ruler of homesteads and real estate, Capricorn is associated with professional dealings with land including landlords, builders, carpenters and contractors.

Why is this significant? Because when it comes to real estate, boundary lines are of paramount importance. As an attorney, I've been faced with more than one boundary line issue that had to be resolved or the deal would have died.

And what does this have to do with the North Node moving into Cancer? Boundary lines are borders, and as voters head to the polls, caravans are heading to the USA's southern border.

While the Lunar Nodes were in Leo and Aquarius, we witnessed an extreme divide when it comes to immigration. Do we stand by national sovereignty (Leo) or do we open our borders to everyone (Aquarius)? With the North Node (where we're headed and/or a point of gain) in Leo, the Lion held its ground.

Now that the North Node is moving into Cancer, the question shifts to do we welcome and nurture them or do we adhere to established government regulations and build a wall (Capricorn)?

Since the North Node (where we're headed and/or a point of gain) is in  Cancer, one can expect the Crab to prevail. However, that doesn't necessarily mean the country will be sending a welcome wagon. You see, although Cancer is known for its sensitive, kind and protective nature, it's a security-conscious sign that has a well-deserved reputation for taking care of its own.

To that end, whether its nurturing energy will extend beyond our borders remains to be seen.

Which way will it ultimately go? Since the Crab tends to move backwards and sideways several times before taking direct action, it may take the 18 months before we find out.
TRANSITNG MARS ENTERS PISCES
November 15 - December 31, 2018

After fighting the good fight in Aquarius and being celebrated as a rebel with a cause, it was time for Mars to bid farewell to the sign of unpredictability and become acquainted with the sign of tranquility.

Taking several big breaths, Mars dove into the watery world known as Pisces where he quickly discovered that his role as the conquering hero was at odds with this gentle, sensitive and sentimental sign that offers everyone kindness, compassion and counseling.

VENUS STATIONS DIRECT

At 5:50 AM EST on November 16, Venus will station direct at 25°15' Libra. For those of you who have been counting the days until Venus goes direct, that day is finally here but it will take some time before Venus is back up to speed. Strictly speaking, Venus will be in the post-retrograde shadow until December 17, which means you should continue to exercise caution in connection to big ticket items.
MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE

At 8:27 PM EST on November 16, Mercury will station retrograde at 13°30 Sagittarius and will backpedal through the sign of the Archer and back into Scorpio until December 6, at which time it will station direct at 27°16' Scorpio.

For those of you who may be in need of a Mercury retrograde refresher, here are few links that you might find helpful. The first is an article I wrote; the second is an article I'm quoted in that appeared in the online edition of Women's Health Magazine.
Closing Thoughts

It's a well-settled astrological rule that when a planet makes a station, it's energy is unstable, and given that we have two inner (personal) planets (Venus and Mercury) stationing on the same day, there's a strong likelihood that the day won't go as planned for many of us.  Now, does that mean the day is destined to be a disaster? Of course not, but if the unexpected or undesirable should occur, keep in mind that a flexible attitude will go a long way in helping you make the best of it.
Finally, I'd like to offer my heartfelt appreciation to all of the men, women and canines who have served our nation.

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,

Debra Anne Clement
