Dear Stargazers,

I'm in the process of recovering from an unfortunate encounter with the sidewalk while walking my dog. F
or the astrologically curious, at the time the transiting Moon (spotlight) was exactly conjunct my natal Uranus (surprise!) in my 3rd house (local area).

Most of this newsletter was already finished, but I've had to omit the Aries ingress chart and limit the new moon to the individual perspective. Overall, I'm fine. My head is healing nicely; my shoulder just needs a bit more rest. Insofar as readings go, I'm back to my regular schedule.

For now, I'm using Mac's speech to text which is a bit slow going for me but will get the job done, because there's something I'd like to share with you.

Venus Rx Insights

In my chart, transiting Venus is presently retrograde in my 11th house of casual friends, acquaintances and colleagues. It's also the house where we receive love from other people (the 5th house is where we express/give love). While I'm happy to say I received much support from my 11th house relationships during this time, the same wasn't true of all of my 1:1 (Venus ruled) relationships.

Since I was born with Venus Rx, relationships are a major life lesson for me, and as I've often said, the classroom known as our earthly journey gives us plenty of opportunities to get it wrong before we get it right. In the old days, I (and my Libra moon) would have immediately tried to fix the relationship by putting more effort into it. Through experience (i.e., getting it wrong), I've learned that sometimes the best way to fix a relationship is to simply thank it, bless it and release it. While it doesn't make me happy, I recognize that this situation is giving me the opportunity to affirm my own self-worth which in turn will help me attract better relationships into my life. Most of all, I appreciate this experience because it shows me how much I've grown.

Whether it's platonic, romantic, professional or familial, most people are here to learn a lesson about some type of relationshipWith rare exception, we all experience a situation or pattern that tends to repeat itself. Every time it reappears, we're actually taking a spiritual exam to measure how much we've learned. How many times we're tested depends on how long it takes for us to get it right, but if you think back over your own spiritual tests, some of you may find that over the years they've gotten a bit easier. We don't get it right the first time, and we usually don't get it right the second, third or maybe even the 100th time. However, along the way, most of us tend to get parts of it right, and when we do, those specific issues usually aren't repeated the next time around.

In any event, my own experience got me thinking about how as the planetary ruler of love, money and relationships, Venus rules the life areas that most of us are here to learn about and which cause us the most pain, struggle and frustration. What's more, it rules our values, including how much we value ourselves, and at the end of the day, our sense of self-esteem is directly tied to how much or how little love, money and abundance we're able to attract in our lives, as well whether we're able to hold onto it.

Well, that got me to thinking about how crucial Venus is to our overall happiness and how important it is to understand how it expresses itself in the horoscope. Since my 10th house Venus Rx is conjunct Chiron (teacher, wounded healer) in Aquarius and opposing Uranus, it's been my calling has been to serve as a metaphysical teacher and healer, which is something I've been doing for years as a professional astrologer.

Your Venus Story

Just like me, every one of you has experienced some type of relationship or money angst. For some, it was a passing experience; for others, it took a while to resolve; and then there are the rest of you who like me are still a work in progress.  I considered offering a webinar on this topic, but while it would be informative on a collective level, it wouldn't be of much to help you on a personal level.

For that reason, I've decided the best way to serve you is to offer a budget-friendly reading that focuses exclusively on the meaning and influence of Venus according to its sign, house, rulerships and aspects in your chart. Since this is going to be so budget-friendly, it's going to be available for a limited-time only.

What are the details? They'll be arriving in your inbox in the next day or so. In the meantime, let's take a look at what's coming up during the next two weeks!
PLANETARY FORECAST
March 20 - April 2, 2017

PLANETARY EVENTS

Mar. 20:  Vernal Equinox (Happy Birthday, Aries!)
Mar. 27:  New Moon in Aries
Mar. 27:  Mercury enters the pre-retrograde shadow
Mar. 30:  Jupiter Rx squares Pluto
Mar. 31:  Mercury enters Taurus
Apr. 02:  Venus Retrogrades into Pisces

REMINDER: Venus is retrograde through April 15. During this time exercise caution when purchasing luxury or big ticket items because things often looks better than they are under this influence. It's also best to avoid new hairstyles and cosmetic procedures including fillers because they're likely to fall short of expectations.

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

March 24, 25, 29, 31

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ARIES!

You'll continue to enjoy Saturn in Sagittarius's support for months to come, but be aware that its relationship with you will change the moment it enters Capricorn on December 19. During the next 2 1/2 years, Saturn will hold each one of you accountable for your past actions, and as a result, some will will rise, some will soar and some will fall. If you've been slacking off, you have roughly nine months left to get it together. If you get started now, the powerful energy of the upcoming Leo solar eclipse on August 21 may help some of you slide into home base.

Those of you born with the Sun at 16°-21° Aries will become personally acquainted with Pluto as it targets your Sun. For some, this will be a continuation of the transformative journey you began last year; for others, it will be the end; and for some of you, it'll just be getting started. Although the specific circumstances surrounding your transformation will depend on your personal horoscope, you can rest assured that some type of irrevocable change is heading your way.

Those of you born with the Sun at 22°-29° degrees of Aries (approximately the last 8 days of the sign) will have Uranus contacting your Sun. For those of you born during the last 3 days of the sign, this will be your first taste of this powerfully liberating energy that can inspire you to want to make immediate, drastic and perhaps even shocking changes in your life. While such changes could be just what the doctor ordered, it's just as possible that they could be too extreme. This can also be a very narcissistic energy, so if your friends or loved ones accuse you of being selfish during this time, they may be on to something. Bottom line: You'll do well to think long and hard before you burn bridges or take any other action that may be irrevocable.

You'll also do well to take advantage of Jupiter in Libra's blessings while it's in your solar seventh house of relationships. From now until October 10, use Jupiter's influence to attract partners, clients and overall helpful people into your life. Jupiter's entry into Scorpio on October 10 a bit of a mixed blessing for your sign. Although the aspect (a quincunx) it forms with your sign creates an awkward relationship, the fact that your ruler Mars kept Pluto's throne warm for him goes a long way to smooth things over during its year long transit.

Jupiter in Scorpio will be transiting your solar 8th house of other people's resources. On the upside, this transit can be helpful if you're applying for a loan or mortgage, as well as for financial aid, scholarships or grants. (Although Jupiter transiting the 8th could help bring a large financial windfall through a lottery or an inheritance, there need to be other simultaneous energies supporting that outcome.) On the downside, this is also the house of debt, and by the time Jupiter leaves some of you may have considerably more debt than when you started. Whether it's good debt or bad debt depends upon you. It's also possible that some of you may release a debt by paying it off, but whether you do so with cash or discharge it in a bankruptcy also depends on your personal situation.

Finally, the upcoming solar and lunar eclipses in Leo and Aquarius will activate your solar 5th and 11th houses. During the next year, some of you will experience exciting new beginnings and/or endings (which includes happy endings by the way!) connected to romance, children, creativity, social activities, hobbies, group relationships and a dream or two!

NEW MOON IN ARIES
March 27, 2017 | 10:57 PM
Washington, DC

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and as such it represents birth and creation. Of all the new moons, this one is the most powerful for new beginnings because also saturated with the assertive, ambitious and resourceful energy of the Ram,

As the ruler of the first house in the natural zodiac, Aries represents the individual, which is why this new moon is meant to encourage you to initiate actions that further your own interests. That's right; you're getting a cosmic green light to put yourself first, toot your own horn and initiate some type of new beginning.
It doesn't need to be big; it just needs to be a step in a new direction that's meaningful to you

Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting this new moon in your chart. If you don't know which house holds 7°37' of Aries in your horoscope, you can refer to the below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, it falls in your 1st house (your physical body, attitude towards life).

Taurus, it falls in your 12th house (spirituality, creativity, mental health, addictions).

Gemini, it falls in your 11th house (groups, associations, hopes, casual friends, colleagues).

Cancer, it falls in your 10th house (career, fame, status, reputation).

Leo, it falls in your 9th house (education, law, religion, foreign and long-distance travel, publishing).

Virgo, it falls in your 8th house (intimacy, shared resources, other people's support, birth, death, estate matters).

Libra, it falls in your 7th house (marriage and all one-to-one relationships including best friends, adversaries, business partners and clients).

Scorpio, it falls in your 6th house (health, work, pets, diet, nutrition).

Sagittarius, it falls in your 5th house (romance, children, creative self-expression, entertainment). Read the 11th house as well.

Capricorn, it falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents).

Aquarius, it falls in your solar 3rd house (siblings, neighbors, short trips, cars, contracts, negotiations.).

Pisces, it falls in your 2nd house (income, spending, personal values, self-esteem, tangible assets).

Manifesting with the Aries New Moon

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's saturated in Aries energy, it especially favors:

Actions t
o promote personal interests and ambitions, increase physical energy, strengthen your body and enhance your physical appearance.

Affirmations to increase confidence, courage, leadership and self-motivation.
TRANSITING MERCURY IN TAURUS
(March 31 - April 20)

At 1:31 PM EDT on March 31, Mercury begins what will be an interrupted journey through the sign of the Bull. Although it enters Taurus while moving in direct (forward) motion, on April 9th it will station retrograde; and by the time April 20 rolls around, Mercury will have backpedaled into Aries.

Mercury's forward motion through Taurus from March 31-  April 9 may motivate some of you to focus on ways to enhance your earnings, improve overall productivity or increase your sense of self-sufficiency. However, with Venus (money) retrograde and Mercury soon to follow, this isn't the time to put new plans into action. It is however a good time to continue to assess your financial situation, as well as the possessions and relationships in your life.

In the April 2 edition of this newsletter, I'll discuss the meaning of Mercury retrograde in Taurus, as well as offer some isights into making this energy work for you.

Transiting Jupiter square Pluto
Exact on March 30, 2017

Jupiter's nature is to expand whatever it touches, which means that whenever it touches (aspects) a planet, it amplifies that planet's nature and qualities. In this case, the planet Jupiter is amplifying happens to be Pluto, and its doing so by way of an aspect known as a square.

In astrology, a square is known as a challenging aspect, but provocative is a much better description of it, because its purpose is to provoke an action. The keyword for the square is action-producing, and that's why it coincides with crises as well as great achievements.

So what can you expect when the planet of expansion (Jupiter) squares (provokes) the planet of power (Pluto)?

Well, on a mundane (world) level, from now until the time it becomes exact, you can expect to see and hear more big stories in the media (Jupiter) alleging abuse of power and spying (Pluto). On this note, I'll offer you one word of caution: Jupiter rules exaggeration. As a result, many of the headlines during this time will lure people in but won't deliver, and some (I'm no saying all) of the claims made will turn out to be at best overblown or at worst untrue. It's also possible that there'll be some news about a confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch. Meanwhile, on the international front, we may see a foreign nation flex its military muscles by firing a missile, testing a bomb (or announcing it has one).

On a personal level, and of course depending on your personal horoscope, some of you may feel as though you've received a massive shot of ambition. If so, beware of biting off more than you can chew.
TRANSITING VENUS RETROGRADE IN PISCES
(8:25 PM on 4/2 to 6:17 am on 4/15)

Note: This section appeared in the March 4 issue as well and is included again for your convenience.

In Pisces (ruled by Neptune), Venus is in the sign of her exaltation. She's at her very best because her virtues are magnified by Neptune.

Remember, just because the virtues are magnified (amplified) doesn't mean there isn't or can't be a shadow side.

To demonstrate, here are some celebrities who were born with this planetary placement, several of whom have suffered from an addiction.

Martin Luther King, Drew Barrymore, Jon Bon Jovi, Maya Angelou, Edgar Allen Poe, Edgar Cayce, Heath Ledger, George Harrison, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Billie Holiday, Kurt Cobain.

Questions to ask yourself while Venus is retrograde in Pisces

Are you making the most of your best attributes?

If not, why? Perhaps you don't value them, or more likely, you don't recognize them or don't know how to maximize them.

Do you overindulge in any forms of escapism or addictive behavior, including but not limited to spending hours watching television or trolling social media sites?

If so, what is it you're avoiding and why? Is it something you fear? Failure? Success? Responsibility? Perhaps you engage in it because you're procrastinating. Again, what are you putting off and why? Is it because you find it distasteful? Or is it a fear of success? If finishing is would advance you in some way, then it's self-sabotage and goes to self-esteem.

Closing Thoughts

In the northern hemisphere, the vernal equinox on March 20 marks the beginning of the new astrological year.

Long associated with fertility and birth, it's a season of creation and new beginnings.

May the spirit of Aries awaken your dormant dreams and inspire them with new life.

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
