Dear Stargazers,

As discussed last time, Venus stationed retrograde in Aries yesterday. Since then, someone asked me if it's influence is any different if you're born with Venus retrograde in your natal chart.

Excellent question! And I have the answer based on scores of clients with this placement as well my own personal experience with Venus retrograde in my natal chart.

If you (or anyone you know) have Venus retrograde in your horoscope, your soul chose an ambitious course load for this lifetime because you're here to learn about relationships, money and values. When you think about it, that takes in just about everything, doesn't it? That's why I say it's an ambitious course of study, and if that wasn't enough, Venus pulls double duty in the horoscope which means two (or in the case of intercepted charts possibly more) houses are ruled by it.

So like those born with Mercury Rx, do you tend to be immune from its effects because having lived with this energy since birth, you're familiar with it? In other words, if you're born with Venus retrograde, does this transit influence you differently?

No. It's still a call to do an across the board re-evaluation of WHO and WHAT means the most to you, as well as re-evaluate the specific life areas ruled by the house (or houses) where Venus is backpedaling in your chart. The only difference is that since this energy is imprinted in your horoscope, the energy feels more comfortable to you. In other words, it's business as usual except at this time you're being directed to examine specific areas.

Mini-Lesson

Since there isn't much significant planetary activity coming up during the next two weeks, I thought it would be a good time to offer another mini-lessonSince the only notable event besides the Virgo full moon is transiting Mars entering Taurus, I thought it would be appropriate to offer an introductory lesson about this fiery planet and its purpose in connection with the horoscope.

But first, let's take a peek at what's ahead during the next two weeks ...
PLANETARY FORECAST
March 6 - March 19, 2017

PLANETARY EVENTS

Feb. 09
:    Transiting Mars enters Taurus

Mar. 12:    Full Moon in Virgo

REMINDER: Venus is retrograde through April 15. During this time exercise caution when purchasing luxury or big ticket items because things often looks better than they are under this influence. It's also best to avoid new hairstyles and cosmetic procedures including fillers because they're likely to fall short of expectations.

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

March 6, 9, 16, 18, 19

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

TRANSITING MARS IN TAURUS
(MARCH 9 - APRIL 21)

Representing the God of War, Mars is one macho planet.

However, according to astrological theory, whenever he's in the feminine, sensual and self-indulgent sign he's reduced to a weakened state not unlike that of Samson after losing his locks to the wily temptress Delilah.

Personally, I don't buy it.

While it's true that Mars loses some of his aggression as he enjoys the sensory delights available to him in Taurus, he's far from depleted. In fact, the fixed energy of the Bull gives him patience, endurance and a desire for wealth. He's also not lazy. Although his ambition does come down a few notches while in Taurus, he's still a pioneer at heart. However, his energy is redirected. In Aries, he reveled in physical competitions; in Taurus he prizes material acquisitions.

Blessed with the Bull's financial acumen, Mars in Taurus has the potential to build a financial empire. In fact, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Jessica Alba, Mick Jagger and Robert DeNiro are just a few celebrity examples of Mars in Taurus individuals who've done just that!
FULL MOON at 22°13 VIRGO

Generally Speaking

An awkward connection between the Virgo moon and Uranus in Aries indicates that in the days leading up to the full moon, some of you will have an unexpected encounter with someone that will give rise to an emotionally uncomfortable situation.

A square (challenge) between Mercury and Saturn suggests that communications may be strained or difficult at this time, especially if you're dealing with authority figures (e.g., boss, parents, government agency). Luckily, the energy from a fortunate trine (flow of energy) between the Moon and Pluto promises that you'll rebound from any difficulties you may encounter.

That said, you're still likely to fare much better at this time by working on your own, because this influence can be quite productive when focused on work that requires concentration and strong attention to detail.

Getting Personal

Since a full moon involves the Sun and the Moon, it falls across two houses in your chart. The house that holds the Moon is where the action is in your chart, and something related to one (or more) of the life areas ruled by it may come to light, to fruition or to an end.

Where in your life is such an event likely to occur? Since this is a full moon, the life areas ruled by the house that holds 22°13 Virgo  in your chart is where the action is focused. However, since the Sun lights up the opposite house, you should consider the life areas ruled by the opposite house as well.

If you don't know which house holds 22°13 Virgo in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out which house the full moon falls in your solar chart.

Releasing with the Virgo Full Moon

During the two weeks immediately following the full moon, the moon is waning. As it slowly fades from view in the evening sky, its energy supports the release of circumstances that no longer serve us. Although you can release anything under any full moon, one that's saturated in Virgo energy is especially helpful for letting go of:

Negative beliefs or attitudes connected to your health, healing, nutrition, diet, exercise, co-workers, pets, current employment or  job prospects.

Traits and tendencies to be c
ritical, sarcastic, bitter, cynical, apathetic, anxious, irritable, fussy or judgmental.
MINI-LESSON: MARS

It takes Mars approximately 687 days (roughly 23 earth months) to complete an orbit around the Sun, and as it does so, it's also making its way through each one of the 12 houses in your horoscope. So what does it mean when Mars comes to call? Below is an introductory lesson that's meant to familiarize you with the basic principles of this fiery red planet.

The Significance of Natal Mars

The keyword for Mars is energy, and in astrology, this planet represents action, motivation and desire.

The zodiac sign that Mars occupies in your horoscope describes what you're driven to attain in this life, as well as how you attempt to distinguish yourself in the process. Since Mars is an ego-driven planet, its sign also sheds light on what your ego craves.

The house location of Mars in your horoscope reveals the life areas where you tend to invest the most time and expend the most effort.

The Significance of Transiting Mars

As Mars transits (travels) through your horoscope, it expresses itself through actions related to the life areas described by the house it's visiting, as well as through any aspects (contacts) it makes with planets or sensitive points in your chart.

That's quite a mouthful, so let's break it down to make it easier to understand.

HOUSE TRANSITS

When Mars transits (travels) into a house in your horoscope, it activates the life areas ruled by that house.

Example:  If Mars enters your 2nd house, its energy activates your money, earnings, possessions and values, and that activation motivates you to assert yourself in connection with a 2nd house matter.

For instance, you may feel a desire to increase your earnings that in turn motivates you to ask for a raise, or you may feel motivated to spend money on a new possession that you've desired for some time. On another note, since Mars is ego-driven, your may find that your sense of self-esteem (self-value) gets a boost during this time.

ASPECTS

When Mars aspects (connects with) a natal planet or sensitive point in your chart, it energizes the nature of that particular planet or point and motivates you to act on it.

Example:  When Mars aspects your Venus (love), you may feel a desire to seek out affection and/or express affection to someone. When Mars aspects your Jupiter (expansion), you may feel a desire to broaden your horizons on some way.

Note:  Whether you express your desire in a positive or negative manner depends upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the type of aspect (i.e., challenging, uncomfortable, flowing), the condition of Mars in your chart (is its energy well-supported or is it compromised?) and the influence of any competing (simultaneous) transits to the chart.

Beyond Action, Motivation & Desire

Mars also represents anger, inflammation, aggression, competition and impulsiveness, so let's discuss how those qualities can play out.

When Mars transits the 2nd house, you may feel motivated to "keep up (compete) with the Joneses."  When Mars transits the 3rd house, you may be quick to argue and/or more inclined to experience road rage (anger) when driving. When Mars in the 5th house, you may have (impulsive) gambling fever, and when it's in the 6th house, you may be susceptible to physical fevers or infections (inflammation).

Free Will

While the influence of Mars may motivate you to take action, whether or not you to take it is entirely up to you

I am a firm believer that a limited number of events or relationships are fated in the sense that as a soul we agreed to experience them, BUT how we experience them is up to us. Whether we embrace them, reject them, handle them well or completely muck them up is all free will. Free will is why we're here. This life is our class; the earth is our university and those we encounter are our teachers. We love some, and we loathe others. Some support us, some make us crazy, but they're all here for a reason. And so are we.
Coming Up

Besides analyzing the Aries new moon, the March 19 issue will also feature an analysis of the spring Ingress chart for the USA. An ingress chart is a mundane (worldly affairs) horoscope that's calculated for the
exact moment the Sun enters a cardinal sign (aries, cancer, libra, capricorn), and it can be created for any location. This year, the rising sign is in a mutable sign (Pisces), which means the energy of this chart will influence the USA for the next 6 months. And yes, it's brimming with insights that you need to know.

Until then,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
