TRANSITING VENUS IN TAURUS
May 6 - May 21

While in Aries, Venus enjoyed instant gratification, but after several weeks of romantic conquests and impulsive purchases, it was time to sit down and pay the bills so with fond memories, she packed her retail therapy into her new suitcase and glided into Taurus.  >>Read More.
TRANSITING MARS IN CANCER
May 15 - July 3

As the planetary ruler of war, Mars is used to wearing armor and wielding swords, so when the Crab told him to don an apron, the hot water wasn’t the only thing that came to a boil.

That Mars and Cancer were at odds with each other comes as no surprise, because their relationship has always been a tense one. You see, Mars is in its fall in Cancer, which means its...  >>More.
FULL MOON at 27°39' SCORPIO
MAY 18, 2019 | 5:11 PM
Washington, DC

This month's full moon is a "seasonal blue moon," which is different than a  "monthly blue moon." Of course, neither one is actually blue despite the image to the left.

Whereas a "monthly blue moon" is a second full moon in the same month, a "seasonal blue moon" occurs about every 2.5 years and is "...the third full moon in a season that has four full moons. (Click here to read more about it).

So astrologically speaking, does a seasonal blue moon have any special properties? No. I'm simply sharing it because I felt it was an interesting bit of trivia. Like every other full moon, its purpose is to bring something to light, to fruition or to an end.

The strongest aspect to the full moon is an opposition (confrontation, stalemate) to Mercury, which is conjunct the Sun. If a situation has been brewing, this energy can force a showdown where everyone has to lay their cards on the table. If so, this will create a door to the more productive side of the opposition, which is compromise and balance. Of course, the parties involved will have to be willing to open it.

Although there are always exceptions to the rule, endings that occur during a full moon are final. If you experience an unhappy ending during this full moon, take heart in the knowledge that Scorpio isn't just the sign of death; it's also the sign of rebirth. Whatever the void, it won't be empty for long.

Releasing with the Scorpio Full Moon

Traits or tendencies to be obsessive, cruel, controlling, vindictive, jealous, secretive, compulsive, vicious or paranoid.

TRANSITING MERCURY IN GEMINI

In astrology, Mercury and Gemini rule the third house of communications, as well as the physical brain, so you can bet that while the fleet-footed one is here, he’s engaged in conversation, even if it’s in his own mind.  >>More
