As we settle into cooler months with less sunlight, it's time to head to the theater for some warm and bright films. After watching uplifting and thought-provoking stories play out on screen, you'll get a chance to hear from our incredible speakers.

ADFF:Toronto (presented by Eventscape) takes place November 1-4, and will feature many Canadian premieres. We'll have an opening night party at Cibo Wine Bar, and a closing night party after the final screening. Some speaker highlights include...

Director Jason Cohn, Producer Camille Servan-Schreiber, and Architect Fred Noyes at ADFF:NY 2023

Filmmaker Jason Cohn, director of Modernism, Inc. will answer questions after the opening night screening. Jason is an ADFF alum. We screened his first design film, Eames: the Architect and the Painter in 2012.

Journalist Fred Bernstein with Clodagh at ADFF:NY 2023

The one and only Clodagh will speak after the screening of Clodagh, the film by the same name. Clodagh is an Irish-born, New York-based designer who has been ahead of the curve with eco-friendly designs for homes and hospitality since she began her career.

Director Afdhel Aziz answered questions at ADFF:NY 2023

Director Afdhel Aziz will speak after the screening of his film, The Genius of Place: The Life and Work of Geoffrey Bawa. Afdhel is the Chief Purpose Officer of Conspiracy of Love and the Co-Founder of Good is the New Cool, a creative studio and incubator focused on creating positive stories. The conversation will be moderated by Toronto-based filmmaker and landscape architect Joseph Clement.

Journalist/Producer Mary Wiens

We are thrilled to present the 20th anniversary screening of the iconic film My Architect. After the screening, journalist and producer Mary Wiens, who can be heard weekdays on Toronto's most listened-to morning show CBC's Metro Morning, will moderate a conversation with Director Nathaniel Kahn, son of Louis Kahn.

Architect Ada Tolla

Filmmaker Gary Huwsitt

Architects Ada Tolla and Giuseppe Lignano, Co-Founders of the NY Firm LOT-EK, will be joined by filmmaker Tom Piper (ADFF alum) after the Canadian premiere of We Start With the Things We Find, which focuses on the work of LOT-EK.


Moderating the conversation is NY Filmmaker Gary Huwsitt (ADFF alum) who directed Helvetica, Rams, and many other design films.


Following the screening is an after-party at TIFF, which provides a chance to meet some of the speakers and celebrate the closing of ADFF: Toronto.

Housing advocate Jenny Tan

After the Screening of Best in the World, Urbanarium has organized a panel about housing issues in Vancouver. Moderating the panel is Architect Shirley Shen. Panelists will include Landscape Architect Kelty Miyoshi, McKinnon Principal at PFS Studios and Jenny Tan, who is a

councillor for the City of Maple Ridge, a former journalist, and an advocate for housing.

Architect Vikramāditya Prakāsh

Architect Vikramāditya Prakāsh is a professor at the University of Washington and received his B. Arch. from Chandigarh College of Architecture. He will be speaking after the film The Power of Utopia – Living with Le Corbusier in Chandigarh. Moderating the conversation is Ayme Sharma, an architect practicing in British Columbia. Trained as an ecologist, Ayme dedicates her time to the promotion and engagement of South Asian art and culture, including serving for 4 years on the Indian Summer Arts Society board.
