| HAP Closes Year 2 of Consolidation Phase: Achievements and Next Steps | | The Health for All Project has successfully concluded Year 2 of its Consolidation Phase (April 2024 – March 2025), making significant strides in the expansion of home care services, inter-professional collaboration, and capacity building among primary healthcare professionals. Moving forward, the project will focus on completing the expansion phase of home-based care in the remaining 30 health centres, advocating for sustainable funding for home care services, strengthening the quality of continuing education and peer groups, supporting interprofessional practice within health centres, and building local capacities to ensure the sustainability of these interventions. | | | |

| | | The Health for All Project invited international mental health expert Dr Rembrant Aarts for a working visit to Albania to assess how mental health services are being integrated into the PHC system, including their delivery through home-based care, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups and the elderly. |

| | | A team composed of leadership and technical staff from the HAP project visited the Local Unit of Health Care of Kavaja and subsequently the Health Centres of Golem and Rrogozhina, in order to gain a better understanding of the progress in implementing home care services and clinical protocols for non-communicable diseases, mental health, and elderly care. |

| | | HAP organised a consultative meeting with representatives from various health centres across the country on the Psychologist’s Manual for Socio-Health Centres, during which the structure and main topics of the manual were discussed with the aim of standardising the role of the psychologist and their interaction with the rest of the health care team. |

| Kristi Kola is a doctor specialised in psychiatry and a university lecturer on Psychopathology, Psychopharmacology, and Psychiatry. Most recently, he has served as co-trainer in the training of trainers “The use of the clinical guideline on the management of mental health disorders in Primary Health Care”. We spoke with him about the importance of integrating mental health services into primary care and the challenges that must be addressed to make this integration successful alongside traditional health services. |

| HAP publishes the network of socio-health services for Durrës, Fier and Lezhë | Following the publication of the network of socio-health services in Elbasan, Korçë, and Shkodër, HAP has now published the mapping of socio-health services in Durrës, Fier, and Lezhë, continuing its contribution to the integration of social and health services by providing mechanisms that promote better coordination in referring individuals who need support beyond the capacities of primary health care. | |

| The HAP Project – An Open Platform for Mutual Appreciation Between Doctors and Nurses | Marking International Nurses Day and World Family Doctor Day, HAP’s social media platforms became a virtual space for celebrating the professionalism, dedication, and human values of nurses and doctors across the country. Through a public call extended to all members of the primary care team, the project invited healthcare professionals to share real-life stories, personal reflections, and messages of appreciation for colleagues who, through their daily work, have become a source of inspiration to those around them.

Health for All is a Project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation that is being implemented in Albania by the Swiss Institute of Health and Tropical Medicine.
