We asked ourselves the question: What does it mean to be a lightworker? This led us to what Rudolf Steiner declares is "one of the world-secrets . . . The world is continually dying in light." Thankfully, he adds that the world is also "continually beginning, continually germinating in the dark". Which raises the next question, what does it mean to be a darkworker? We will explore two of Rudolf Steiner's indications regarding these world-secret questions through eurythmy and clairvoyance exercises, interwoven with readings and discussion.

The festival of Martinmas (November 11) falls at the precise midpoint between Michaelmas (September 29) and Christmas Eve (December 24). Rudolf Steiner’s original Calendar of the Soul verse for the week of Martinmas (Week 32) appears descriptive of what we know about Saint Martin as an exemplar for our own journey from Michaelmas into the Holy Nights.

| This presentation will provide opportunity and time to engage in soul exercises and participate in group reflection that assist “human beings to quicken within themselves the seed of Christ’s light in the deepest darkness of night”.

| | | Lelan Harris is a founding member and the Executive Director of Wise Cosmos Educational Initiative. Building upon a BS in secondary education, an M.Div. in spiritual formation, and certifications in business leadership and psychosocial development, he has served as a teacher, leader, consultant, and healer in settings ranging from public schools and corporations to graduate institutions and independent Waldorf schools. His passions include marriage to Julie for nearly 35 years, plus mountain parkour, wilderness backpacking and canoeing, downhill skiing, and many other outdoor sports.

| | Alison Meredith is the Executive Administrator at Wise Cosmos Educational Initiative. As her children progressed through the local Waldorf School, a place which felt uniquely special, she met Anthroposophy. She initiated a parent and child play group and was actively involved in the parent community. Alison has been a participant and leader in several anthroposophical initiatives and areas, including Eurythmy, Astrosophy, and the Christian Community. Her professional background includes working as a Food Technologist in both Research & Development, plus Sales & Marketing. Through life she has enjoyed being in and around nature, sky watching, and spending many seasons sailing the coastal waters of her homeland, New Zealand. She continues to be inspired by the spiritual teachings of Rudolf Steiner, discovering ways to integrate these into life, whilst guiding others to discover, experience, and engage.
