We will survey activities of the Archangel Michael during the course of our four seasons, including Michael's role in helping human beings battle the Dragon through meteoric iron that strengthens the blood and brings us courage.

If, under the impulse of Anthroposophy, a man enters thus into the enjoyment of nature, the consciousness of nature, but then also awakes in himself an autumnal self-consciousness, then the picture of Michael with the dragon will stand majestically before him, revealing in picture-form the overcoming of nature-consciousness by self-consciousness when autumn draws near . . . .
We can see how, on the one hand, man shines out into the cosmos in the St. John's light, and on the other how the dragon-like serpent-form of Ahriman winds its way among the human beings shining in the astral light and tries to ensnare and embrace them, to draw them down into the realm of half-conscious sleep and dreams. Then, caught in this web of illusion, they would become world-dreamers, and in this condition, they would be a prey to the Ahrimanic powers. All this has significance for the cosmos also."

| | | Brian Gray is a teacher, lecturer, and writer on many topics drawn from Anthroposophy – the work of Rudolf Steiner. He loves to share research from the realms of star wisdom, biography, cosmology, Waldorf Education, sacred architecture, and esoteric Christianity. Brian was core faculty at Rudolf Steiner College (RSC) in Fair Oaks, California from 1981-2016. He also served as RSC’s Director of the Foundation Program from 1991-1998, and again from 2006-2016.
Brian earned a BA in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. Inspired in 1979 by René Querido – one of his master teachers at RSC – Brian completed a certificate in Waldorf Teacher Education in 1981. Brian has helped lead tours through Europe, Egypt, and the Holy Land, exploring sacred architecture, sacred sites, and Parzival’s quest for the Holy Grail.
Brian is a founding member of Wise Cosmos Educational Initiative: WiseCosmos.org.
