November Wine Club!

Did you know that turkey’s have been a symbol of abundance and fertility for centuries long before the first Thanksgiving? Well what better way to celebrate abundance and fertility than with some beautiful wines. Classico will fall in love with a wonderfully dry Riesling from the Baden region of Germany and a unique red blend from Italy while Riserva gets to revel in a spectacular Greek Assyrtiko and an enriching Pinot Noir from Oregon.
Classico Club

Nagelsfort Baden-Baden
Dry Riesling
Baden, Germany

Fleshy, almost tropical notes of honeydew and papaya are offset by stoney materials and fresh grapefruit acidity here. An excellent value for such an elegant wine, its a voluptuously textured yet deftly balanced Riesling. The finish is lean and intently minerally. Drink now through 2022.
The Nagelsfort Estate is located above Baden-Baden on the hills of the black forest with a spectacular overview of the Rhine Valley and Alsace region. The estate was established in 1268 and produces wonderfully fresh wines thanks to the region’s cool climate and high altitude as well as the chilly winds from the black forest.

Tenuta Casaletti 2016 Valpolicella
Red blend
Veneto, Italy

The nose is rather shy but eventually shows earthy aromas of grilled herb, charcuterie and ground clove. The aromas follow over to the juicy, rather rustic palate along with red cherry and a funky hint of game. It’s easy drinking with loose, somewhat fleeting tannins.
This delectable red is made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone and Cabernet.
The vineyard is based out of the Illasi Valley where the limestone terrain of Valpolicella overlaps with with volcanic soil of Soave.

Alpha Estate Assyrtiko 2016
Assyrtiko
Florina, Greece

This variety produces the finest wine in Greece. Bright, crisp and racy, full of citrus fruits and a pronounced minerality that makes this wine the perfect accompaniment to all types of fish and seafood. Long, brilliant, and delicious!
Kinero Cellars came about through the winemaker, Anthony Yount, and his appreciation for white wine and his dads disdain for it. He set out to create white wines that would satisfy his father’s palate and surprise him by how fun and complex white wine can truly be.

Angela Estate “Abbott Claim” Pinot Noir 2015
Pinot Noir
Yamhill, Oregon

Dreamy, young and lively with silky cherry, red currant and finely integrated tannins. A smooth and supple option that is truly fruit forward and delicious. A gentle touch of chocolate underlies on the palate adding a nice depth to this delicate wine.
Vineyards in the region tend to produce richly colored, savory and complex wines. Darker wines tend to be the signifier from the Yamhill region.

November Cheese & Charcuterie Club!
Barber’s 1833 Vintage Reserve Cheddar

Barber’s 1833 is made using traditional starter cultures and the finest West Country milk. Aged for at least 24 months, only when one of the Barber family judges it to be outstanding does it leave the farm as 1833. With a creamy texture and smooth finish,1833 contains naturally- occurring crystals that give it a distinctive crunch. Refined sweet notes balance out its tangy sharpness.

Membrillo (Quince)

Membrillo (quince paste) contains only three ingredients: quince, sugar, and lemon, cooked intoa reddish paste. The naturally high pectin content in the Valencian quince gives the paste its firm and jelly like texture. Using fruit from their own trees, Paiarrop’s membrillo is famous in Spain for being just like Grandma used to make; it is fresher tasting and less sugary than many commercially produced varieties. It has a shelf life of one year opened or unopened – the color darkens with age.
Packed 2/2kg bulk, 12/10oz tamper-proof containers
The quince is the sole member of the genus Cydonia in the family Rosaceae. It is a deciduous treethat bears a pome fruit, similar in appearance to a pear, and bright golden-yellow when mature.

Ollie Sopressata

Sopressata is a robust salami flavored with whole black peppercorn and garlic. It has amemorable, classic salami taste that embodies all that we love about this cured meat. A perfect salami to go with a perfect cheese pairing!
