Last year we celebrated Memorial Day weekend but it was without the normal events we are accustomed.  The Indy 500 had been rescheduled for August and the normal parades and festivities had been cancelled altogether. 

This year the Indy 500 will be run with 40% fan capacity.  We are looking forward to attending just because it will be much easier than normal to park and deal with traffic !  I don't think our interests align with Mr. Penske's (owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) though.  The normal festivities were cancelled months ago.  Hotels are filling back up but not for an extended race weekend.  Yet, slowly we are returning to normal. 

This year, we have much to be thankful for.  At 3pm local time Monday remember for just a moment those who died while serving in the U.S. military.  If not for the freedoms they fought and earned for us, we would have all surely had a much different life during this pandemic.
