Equinox Reflections
At this time of year, as we see summer fading and autumn approaching, we celebrate the
equinox once again. As day and night approach symmetry, we are reminded of the importance of balance during intense times like these. Measures of equilibrium and imbalance can become clearer: where do we find the balance in life, and where might we benefit from shifting weights, priorities and goals? Are we in a place that is too protective or too vulnerable? Are we balancing free time and discipline? Nature and technology? These are questions vibrating through all levels of our reality.

Water is one of Wilbur’s most powerful medicines. Water does not rest until it is balanced and level. When it is disturbed, it eventually, arrives back again at balance. This autumn, we invite you to reflect on the idea of balance. Wilbur is a wonderful setting for this reflection and we hope that you will take a day or two to be here and experience the simplicity and peacefulness of its land and waters.
Post-Fire Ecology
As more time passes since the Ridge Fire, we are seeing green shoots starting everywhere in the charred land. We look ahead to a very busy fall and winter, doing what we can do stem erosion, reduce wildfire risk, and installing beaver dam analogs. A wonderful way to get involved in this work is to join us for a stewardship work trade date!
