Hola Friend,

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Made my day, even though I personally cannot travel, but am loving being the bearer of great news... and hopefully the changes mean that we can get out guys back to work sooner, rather than later!

And the news is...

Cuba announces the reopening of most of its international airports starting next Monday.

According to Cubacute...

The Cuban Government announced that from next Monday the international airports of the provinces of Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, Camaguey, Las Tunas, Holguín, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo will be open, all which are moving towards a “new normal”.

According to Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, the decision is part of a three-phase plan that will begin to be applied on the island and that from now on will be divided by provinces, which will not depend on Havana to resume such operations as if it happened with the previous de-escalation plan.

Marrero Cruz explained that Havana will begin to receive international flights in the coming days, but without specifying dates. Neither Ciego de Ávila and Sancti Spíritus will have international flights due to the transmission conditions of the coronavirus.

Marrero did not make it clear if he was also lifting the ban on Cubans living on the island from leaving the country.

All travelers, including tourists from now on, who enter the country will have to present an affidavit of their state of health, detailing how they have felt in the last 15 days.

"In the previous phase, tourism was opened to the north and south keys (...) in this phase the possibility of international flights arriving," said Marrero.

100% of international travelers will undergo PCR and the isolation protocol will be applied according to the place they are going to.

Cuban citizens, permanent residents in Cuba, who are abroad and those who take the 24 months abroad due to COVID-19, should go to the consulates to request the extension of time for one more year, until they can return to the country.

Cubans who arrive in the country will not have to spend a quarantine in isolation centers, but will be able to expire these 14 days in their own homes.

HOW GOOD IS THAT???

It seems to me from the article that people can finally go and see their families and stay with them, provided they have completed the applicable quarantine period.

Hoping to find some more information and will post it in the coming days via the social media channels.
