Wayfarers Newsletter

May 18 - 24, 2026

IMPORTANT NEWSLETTER UPDATE!

MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTER

As email providers try to stay one step ahead of spammers and hackers, it becomes more and more challenging to ensure that the emails we WANT to receive consistently end up in our INBOX. Sometimes bulk emails (those sent to multiple addresses at once) – like our newsletter – end up in SPAM. Other times, email systems skip the SPAM folder and completely delete the email without you ever knowing it existed. Annoying, but that’s the current reality and it is happening more and more lately.

To help ensure that you will always be able to receive the Wayfarers Newsletter, please take 2-5 minutes and do two things: 1) Add news@wayfarerschapelga.org to your contact list … AND … 2) Set up a filter that sends all email from news@wayfarerschapelga.org directly to your inbox or other folder of your choice.

Filters are easy to set up, but it is a bit much to cover here since every email provider handles filters differently. Just head to YouTube and search for “creating filters in Gmail” (or whoever your provider is). If that doesn’t work, give Ruth Henry a call at (901) 218-4234.

TIME TO CELEBRATE

WAYFARERS 40th ANNIVERSARY

Wayfarers 40th anniversary will be celebrated the weekend of September 12-13. The board is very grateful for the ideas and support already flowing. The next meeting to organize the event weekend will be June 7th after chapel. This is a potluck Sunday so lunch will be included.  We will be creating small groups to help organize the various components of the celebration including Peace pole, Food, Saturday activities, and Sunday plans. Feel free to let any board member know of your interest to help and any ideas for the celebration. We look forward to creating a joyful meaningful time together.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Charlotte Starfire was our host and Ruth Henry provided the music. She treated us to her wind drum and some beautiful vocals. Martha Wooding-Young talked to us about unhappiness, the hedonic treadmill and sympathetic joy.

If you want to catch up on any talks that you may have missed, you can find them by clicking the Here.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
