Wayfarers Newsletter

July 27 - August 2, 2026

THIS WEEK

WRITERS GROUP (5:00 PM, Tuesday, July 28th)

The Writers Group is a gathering of people of all writing types, styles and abilities who meet each week to share their craft and give one another feedback. Everyone with an interest is encouraged to attend whether you've never written before or have years of experience.

SUNDAY SERVICE (10 AM - August 2nd)

Following music by Chris and Carol Moser, Martha Wooding-Young will share the message "So Close We Overlook It".

POTLUCK (Immediately Following Service)

Ahhh ... it's that time again. Potluck is always a fabulous time of sharing good food with good friends ... so bring your favorite dish and get ready to dig in! In keeping with our commitment to health, please mark your dish with a description and basic ingredients so folks can make healthy decisions for themselves.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

BOARD NOMINATIONS

First - a BIG "Thank You" to our current Board of Directors who ensure that everyone who walks through our doors has an amazing experience. From scheduling speakers and musicians to setting up our concerts and drum circles to making sure we have clear walkways and the lights are on ... there are lots of moving pieces. The Board members don't personally do all the work of keeping Wayfarers in motion, but they DO ensure that it is done!

Having a five-member Board ensures that we have broad perspectives as we make decisions about the daily operations and the future of Wayfarers Chapel and ensures that the responsibility of running the chapel does not fall to one or two individuals. Alternating two-year terms pave the way for one or two new faces every year and ensure we always have new ideas and energy while maintaining a base of experience on the Board.

Becoming a Board member is a way of serving the values and people of Wayfarers by donating a few hours each month. It is also a privilege that provides a unique connection to the chapel and all who pass this way. The next Board term begins January 1st, 2027, and the new Board is announced the first Sunday in November.

Please consider this opportunity to support Wayfarers Chapel. And if there is a "Yes" or "Maybe" in your heart, please contact one of our current Board members to let them know and explore any questions or concerns you may have.

SAVE THE DATE
