Happy Hemp Superfood Breakfast Bowl with Maca and Tahini

This is a blend designed to really set you up for the day, with a sustained boost of energy and its high protein, nutritious and adapt genic qualities. It’s an easy, fast way to support yourself nutritionally, if you have a busy or stressful schedule, because it is just loaded with supportive stuff. It works in two ways… • as a smoothie in a bowl along with extra toppings • a regular smoothie in a large glass all by itself It’s delicious both ways. I sometimes like to sprinkle on some extra seeds or my favourite home-made gluten-free granola for a bit of extra crunch.

Waking? Insomnia? Simple Tips to Help You Fall Back to Sleep

If you are reading this we probably have something in common... insomnia. A 2008 study by the National Sleep Foundation found that 42% of respondents woke up at night at least a few times a week (1). We are not alone in this condition known as "middle of the night insomnia" or "maintenance insomnia". The advice I offer today is safe and it has worked for me countless times and hopefully it works for you as well.

The Cure for All Anxiety

We live in a culture that says that the only way to get what you want is to DO DO DO and then DO some more. Push. Struggle. Make it happen. Work your ass off. Try. And never ever give up. I once believed this was true. Surrender was something I only did after everything else my ego knew how to do had failed. Once I had exhausted every available option, I would fall to my knees, usually in tears, and surrender to the Divine. And when you’re in the zone of trust, anxiety can’t co-exist.

Avoiding Gluten Good For More Than Just Celiacs, Study Confirms

The gluten free (GF) movement has taken on powerful momentum in the past few years, with GF labeled products estimated to balloon to about 7 billion dollars globally by 2019. If listening to your body has lead you to identify gluten as a health problem and you feel better after removing it, a new study adds to an already extensive body of research that the rapidly expanding gluten free movement is not a fad as critics claim.

How to Make Kombucha

I am a huge fan of Kombucha. A natural healthy fermented beverage full of amazing amino acids, probiotics and essential minerals, it has been brewed and enjoyed for over 2000 years all over the world, from Russia to China and early Europe. I have been brewing Kombucha at my own home for many years now. During it's brewing, it naturally carbonates and creates a refreshing fizzy drink. I attribute drinking this fermented tea on a daily basis to many health benefits I have experienced. And it's easy to make it at home!

Effortless Presence – Active Meditation vs. True Meditation

Real meditation is never the result of an activity, but Presence in the space of Consciousness. This natural, effortless Presence is meditation itself. The deeper dimensions of Consciousness are beyond the mind. This Silence is not forced upon us by some concentration technique but by the indescribable living emptiness. Conscious existence in the space of Consciousness.

The Hamster Wheels of the Matrix

It’s amazing how many come so near yet so far. As I’ve said all along, without a full-on conscious awakening, no matter to what degree people are “getting” what’s going on, it’s still propelling the matrix – another hamster wheel of futility fighting this imposed matrix at many levels yet all on the terms of the control system. Do we want to be winners for love and truth, or destined-to-lose self-reinforcing pulpit pounding tools of unending futility? This is where the heart comes in. Do we learn and grow in humility to the wondrous universe and all its workings? Or are we just new forms of egoic expression, lording over others our new found knowledge of the increasingly obvious workings of the matrix of deceit. That’s a pretty big question.

Happy Armpits: Make Your Own Coconut-Oil Deodorant (Recipe Included!)

I’ve always been picky about deodorants. Not because they didn’t do their “job”, but there was always something I wasn’t too happy with. Scent, consistency, drying factor… then I read the ingredients printed on the packaging. Aluminium jumped right at me. Let me just explain what this most abundant metal in Earth’s crust does, how it ended up on our armpits, and how you can ditch commercial deodorants for good.
Nurse Reveals the Top Five Regrets People Make on their Deathbed

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last weeks of their lives. People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the five most common.

Fluoride Linked to Coronary Heart Disease

Dental fluorosis is a condition caused by too much fluoride, and it’s on the rise in the United States. Though it can happen to anyone, the condition (which ruins teeth) affects more children than adults, primarily because children’s teeth are still developing and more susceptible to fluorosis. But did you know that dental fluorosis is also a biomarker for coronary heart disease?
