Join the Virginia STEM Learning Ecosystem and the Virginia Partnership for Out-of-School Time (VPOST) for the next STEMinar on August 6, 2026 at 4:00Designed for anyone facilitating informal STEM learning who doesn't come from a formal STEM teaching background, including out-of-school time educators, librarians, parks and recreation staff, museum educators, troop leaders, and corporate volunteers, this session will explore the unique and powerful role out-of-school time (OST) settings play within the broader STEM ecosystem. Attendees will be introduced to PEAR's Dimensions of Success (DOS), a research-based framework for facilitating high-quality OST STEM programming. Attendees will also gain practical strategies to incorporate authentic STEM practices and ready-to-go resources. The session will close with real-world insights from Dr. Kerry Cresawn, Director, Center for STEM Education and Outreach at James Madison University, who will share their partnership model with the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisonburg & Rockingham, fostering quality STEM learning experiences outside of the classroom.
