Subject: VPH2020 Meet-the-Mentor Session + Avicenna Day

Dear VPHi members,
Today it has officially started the VPH2020 conference with a full day dedicated to Covid-19. Full info here: https://vph2020.sciencesconf.org/

We wish to remind you about two upcoming initiatives that will take place during the conference:

1. The Meet-the-Mentor session

The Meet-the-Mentor Session is an event organized by the VPHi Student Committee in occasion of the VPH2020 conference to enhance the learning experience for PhD students. This initiative offers trainees a special opportunity to network with senior members of the community and receive career advice and insights.

The mentor panel is composed by both senior academic and industry representatives from different fields. Each mentor will have a dedicated virtual meeting room at a specific schedule during the conference and will meet a maximum of 6 students.
Full details, including the mentor list can be found here:
https://www.vph-institute.org/events/vph2020-meet-the-mentor-session.html

This event is available to VPHi student members only. Interested trainees should sign up to it by sending an email to manager@vph-institute.org. Registrants are requested to submit their mentor choices (minimum of 2 mentor options) and places will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Once the registration process will be closed, a schedule of the event will be made available to all registrants.

The registration deadline is TODAY!

2. The Avicenna Day

The Avicenna Day is taking place tomorrow, 25th of August 2020, as a satellite event of the VPH2020 Conference and is accessible to all the registered VPH2020 attendees.
The Avicenna Alliance is a non-profit where academia, healthcare organizations and industries have joined forces with the same mission as the VPHi: promoting the uptake of in silico medicine research.
By statute, all VPHi members are also members of the Avicenna Alliance and they have the opportunity to take part to the activities they organise.

The Avicenna day discussions will be framed around the recent progress made by the different working groups, the engagements with the various task forces to initiate or amplify successful collaborations with clinicians, academics, industries, policymakers, regulators and other stakeholders. The event is so a great opportunity to get to know more about the Alliance activities and how you could contribute!

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Best regards
