POLICY NEWS
The EU4H SANTE Action Grants 2025 includes 9 call topics with the common goal of leveraging AI and health data to accelerate the early detection, prediction, personalised prevention, integrated management and rehabilitation of Cardiovascular and Related Chronic Diseases including rare and complex forms.

VPH COMMUNITY
The new VPH Executive Committee Interview Series continues with Dr. Finn Catling, Academic Intensive Care Doctor, PhD Fellow at Imperial College London, and newly elected VPH Executive Committee member for Clinical Engagement. He reflects on how in silico medicine and AI can move closer to the bedside, how to foster stronger clinician–researcher collaboration, and the importance of clinical success stories.
As part of KU Leuven’s 600-year celebrations, the iSi Health Symposium gathered global leaders in in silico medicine. Inspiring talks explored the evolution of the field, AI for movement analysis, patient involvement, and clinical and regulatory challenges. The event fostered vibrant discussions and new collaborations to shape the future of in silico healthcare.


How can in silico models truly shape public health decisions? Despite their power, a gap remains between modelling and policy. As future crises loom, we need models that are used early, explained clearly, and trustworthy.


In this episode of The Digital Twin Theory podcast, we speak with Prof. Geert Meyfroidt, head of intensive care at University Hospital Leuven, about AI in the ICU. He argues for actionable tools that act like a “GPS for doctors,” delivering the right data at the right time—saving precious clinical time, improving patient interaction, and extending expert care where it’s most needed.

YOUNG SCIENTISTS COMMITTEE
Inès Casanova, Master’s student at ESCP Business School, focused her thesis on the adoption challenges of digital twins in healthcare. Drawing on insights from several VPH community members, her work highlights barriers, strategies, and future prospects for integrating digital twins into hospital practice.
