POLICY NEWS
The Avicenna Public & Patient Involvement (PPI) task force presents their first position paper with focus on assessing the status quo and proposing an action plan for establishing PPI within in silico medicine.
On 25 July 2023 the EC responded to the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) titled 'Save Cruelty-free Cosmetics - Commit to a Europe without Animal Testing.'
The Spain’s presidency of the European Council has started in July and will last until December this year. This new presidency brings new focus points in terms of policy and in particular it places an emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and its regulatory development.

Researchers at Stanford University have employed deep learning to advance treatment of infants seizures, providing another in silico medicine success story.
In the rapidly evolving landscape of health research, a 2-day interuniversity workshop on in silico medicine took place in Leuven (Belgium) on 20 to 21 Sept 2023
The METASTRA project, a cutting-edge EU-funded initiative, has commenced its mission to transform the way clinicians assess fracture risk in cancer patients with vertebral metastases. The ambitious project aims to develop innovative reliable computational models and improved patient stratification techniques to provide personalised treatment recommendations.
A call for papers is now open to contribute to the special issue of Frontiers in Physiology entitled: "Multiscale cancer modeling, in silico oncology, in silico psycho-oncology and digital (virtual) twins in the cancer domain"
