Dear SMART Recovery Community,

For over nine years, Christi Alicea has been a leader in our organization. She served as Assistant Executive Director for much of that time and stepped up as Acting Executive Director on three separate occasions! Most recently, she helped successfully launch our new Multiple Pathways Partner Program. Through it all, she’s been an advocate for the well-being of our volunteers and employees.

Christi informed me at the beginning of January that she had decided to follow a new career path. While she’d rather not discuss that path with others yet, I’m sure she’s going to be great at whatever she focuses her time and energy on.

Unfortunately, that means that Christi is resigning from her position at SMART at the end of March. I appreciate Christi giving us three months’ notice so that we could benefit as much as possible from a transition that included her. Christi and I have a solid relationship, so I’m also confident that she’ll pick up the phone and answer questions when we have them, as I’m sure we will.

It’s hard losing folks who have meant so much to an organization. I hope that you’ll join me in wishing Christi well.
