Your animal's nervous system is constantly reading yours.
Before they respond to a loud noise, a new visitor, or a change in routine, they're first reading you — how you're holding your body, how steady your breath is, whether your heart feels open or braced.
When you calm yourself first, you're not just managing your own stress; you're offering your animal a place to land.
Today's practice is a simple heart-connection exercise you can use anytime you need to settle yourself and your animal together.
I invite you:

Settling Together:
Place both hands over your heart.
Take three slow breaths.
Imagine your heart becoming brighter with each inhale.
Soft...
warm...
peaceful.
Now picture your animal.
Imagine a gentle beam of golden light flowing from your heart to theirs.
There's nothing you need to do.
Nothing to fix.
Simply allow love, peace, and safety to flow naturally.
Silently Repeat:
"I send you peace."
"I send you safety."
"We breathe together."
Imagine both of your nervous systems settling into the same gentle rhythm.
Feel gratitude for your connection.
Rest together in this quiet space for several breaths.
Reflection:
Before moving on with your day, notice that your animal doesn't need you to have it all figured out — they need your heart to be open and present.
Calm isn't something you perform for them; it's something you feel first, and they receive.
Ask yourself:
Where in my day can I pause, hand over heart, and offer my animal (and myself) a moment of true settling?
You can return to this practice anytime the world feels a little loud.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me and with your animal.
3you
