Subject: When Your Head and Heart Disagree: Finding Calm Within

When your thoughts and feelings pull you in different directions, your animal can remind you to pause, reconnect with your heart, and find more peace

Healing Your Animal Connection

Hi Friend,

Healing Vibrations to You!

October has a way of turning us inward. The days grow shorter, the world feels busier and louder, and many of us find ourselves pulled in more than one direction at once.

Maybe your mind says, “I should keep pushing.” while your heart says, “I need to rest.” Maybe your head has a plan while your heart is quietly asking for something different.

Here is what I want you to know: your animal can feel that inner tug-of-war.

They may not understand the details, but they notice the shift in your breathing, your body, and your energy. And sometimes they respond by becoming restless, clingy, watchful, or unsettled.

When the world around us feels more intense, our animals remind us to come back to what is simple, steady, and true.

When the Head and Heart Disagree: Finding Your Inner Balance

You don’t need to settle the debate between your head and your heart. Your animal doesn’t need you to have the answer.

What often helps most is becoming more internally congruent: letting your head, heart, and body feel like they are on the same team, even for a moment.

When that happens, your animal feels the difference.

This Week's Gentle Practice

In this short practice, you’ll listen to your head, listen to your heart, and let your body anchor you both.

You don’t have to fix anything.

You simply notice, breathe, and invite your animal to share the quiet.

I invite you:

▶ Watch the 5-minute, 47-second video and take a few quiet minutes to practice together.

Coming Home to Balance:

  • Place both feet comfortably on the floor.

  • If your animal is beside you, simply notice them.

  • If they are somewhere else, imagine them peacefully in their favorite place.

  • Take a slow breath in...and gently out.

  • Now notice what your head is saying.

  • Maybe it's a to-do list, a worry, or a plan. Just Listen.

  • You don't have to agree or argue, and there's no judgment.

  • Take a slow breath.

  • and slowly breathe out.

  • Now bring your attention to your heart.

  • What is your heart saying? It may be a word, a feeling, or simply a quiet knowing

  • Take a slow breath.

  • Feel the warmth of your hand on your heart and the steadiness of your hand on your belly.

  • Let your breath move gently between them.

  • Now invite your animal to simply be present with you.

  • They don't have to do anything. Let them be exactly as they are.

Ask Yourself Softly:

"What would feel more peaceful right now?"

  • Listen for the answer. It may be a small one: a deeper breath, a softer shoulder, a pause, a walk.

  • Take one more slow breath, and let that peaceful feeling extend to your animal.

Reflection:
Before you return to your day, notice what shifted, even slightly.

Maybe your breath is a little deeper.

Maybe your shoulders have dropped.

Maybe your animal sighed, stretched, or moved closer.

Let that become your anchor when the day feels busy.

A Gentle Reminder

Your animal doesn't need you to have it all figured out.

Often, what they need most is the experience of you being present, steady, and at peace with yourself.

You can return to this practice anytime your head and heart feel pulled in different directions.

Thank you for sharing this moment with me and with your animal.

P.S.

This week, choose one small moment each day to pause and ask yourself,

“What would feel more peaceful right now?” It could be:

🐾 Before you step out the door
🐾 While your animal eats breakfast
🐾 During a walk together
🐾 In the quiet of the evening

Let your animal be there with you. You don’t have to do anything more.

Notice how they respond when you become a little more settled inside.

I always love hearing how these practices unfold for you. Simply reply and share how your animal responds.
