In this gentle practice, you'll use your breath, the feeling of the earth beneath your feet, and your heart connection with your animal to create a greater sense of calm and stability.
You don't need to make your animal calm.
You don't need to make yourself perfectly calm.
Instead, you're creating a grounded place within yourself that your animal can feel and respond to.
I invite you:
▶ Watch the 6-minute, 32-second video and take a few quiet minutes to practice together.
Settling Together:
Place both feet comfortably on the floor.
If your animal is beside you, simply notice them.
If they are somewhere else, imagine them peacefully in their favorite place.
Take a slow breath in...
and gently out...
Again...
slowly breathe in...
and slowly breathe out.
Now bring your awareness to your feet.
Feel the support of the ground beneath you.
Imagine roots extending gently from your feet into the earth.
You don't have to hold everything together.
You don't have to know what the entire day will bring.
For this moment, you are here.
Take a pause.
Now imagine a soft, warm feeling of steadiness moving upward from the earth...
through your feet...
your legs...
your body...
and into your heart.
As you breathe,
Silently Repeat:
"I am here."
I am safe in this moment.
I can move through change with ease."
Now imagine that same feeling surrounding your animal.
You aren't asking them to change.
You aren't asking them to be perfectly calm.
You're simply offering the message:
"You are safe with me.
We can adjust together."
Take another slow breath.
Notice your animal's presence.
Notice your own presence.
Allow there to be a little more space...
a little more ease...
and a little less urgency.
Reflection:
Before you return to your day, notice one thing that feels steady
Maybe it's your breath.
Maybe it's the ground beneath your feet.
Maybe it's your animal's presence.
Let that become your anchor when the day feels busy.
A Gentle Reminder
Your animal doesn't need you to have everything figured out.
Often, what they need most is the experience of you being present, grounded, and connected.
Take that feeling of steadiness with you into the rest of your day.
And you can return to this exercise anytime you want to reset and be present, grounded, and connected with your animal.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me and with your animal.
