March is the month of Spring. It's been teasing the PNW with some warm sunny days between cooler rainy days. There is excitement knowing it is on its way. I was delighted to see my first crocuses of the season on a nature walk.
There is a lot of scrambled energy and uncertainty in our lives and the world today.
That is why I'm talking about grounding. It's a way to calm yourself and your animals no matter what is happening.
Adding grounding to my daily life has made a huge impact on the quality of not only my life, my precious pets' lives as well. That is why I'm passionate about sharing it with you and helping you and your pet(s) benefit too.
The term grounding is a science term. It is physics. It is where a larger mass reduces the excess charge of a smaller mass. Our anxiety, nervousness, worry, and stress are excess charges in our body. The Earth is the larger mass, our body is the smaller mass. This works the same for our pet(s).
The first step in grounding your pet is grounding you. There is a grounding exercise for you below.

Exercise for the Week: |
|
Grounding You:
• Stand up with your feet hip width apart. • Close your eyes. • Pretend you are a tree. • Your body and legs are the trunk of the tree. • Imagine you have big roots coming out of the soles of your feet. • The roots go through the floor, through the top of the Earth, and deep into the Earth. • Allow anything you are worried about to flow down your legs, into your roots, and out into the Earth. This is a grounding exercise from my second book: Heart to Heart: How you can heal your animal through all stages of life where I teach more grounding techniques. This exercise came from teaching grounding to 8th graders. If they can do it, so can you. They were excited that it was going to help them before taking tests and pop-up quizzes. |
