Let's start with the Energetic Forecast.

Many reports of emotions running high with the scorpio full moon last Sunday. We are also running close to an upcoming mercury retrograde May 18th, which can be sensed early for some. In addition there are a lot of solar flares, reports of portals opening, and I am sure you have noticed the extremes in earth weather. I have personally had major energetic goings on and insomnia. We are still in an extreme clearing and releasing cycle.

Are you empathic? An empath has the ability to sense and feel the emotional and physical states of others as if they were her own. It is beyond sympathy, it is more akin to compassion, it is a "feeling with." They are also highly sensitive emotionally, energetically, and in a bodily sense. They can sense the "vibe" in a room and around others.

Empathic ability is a type of psychic emotional intelligence. It is the one that is often the most feared and challenging to deal with. One of the first tasks an empath must master is the dividing line between their own emotions and that of others, to know whose they are. With some self awareness and spiritual practice this is possible and helps a great deal. If you are empathic and having any trouble with it, please contact me, I can coach you through it.

Client Story: Many of my students and coaching clients are empathic. One is so in tune she has trouble just being around people at all, just being in a close proximity would create emotional overflow and anxiety. Through deepening her awareness of her own emotion and some releasing techniques she is MUCH better now, and very happy that she has someone to talk to who does not think she is nuts! Her empathic opening is also part of a spiritual awakening, which we are seeing more and more of in these times. The helpful approach is not to try to become something you are not, but to learn to handle the person you are. :)

Empaths are always intuiting, their trouble is in navigating the overflow of the incoming information. But as a result of their emotional IQ, they learn deep truths about human nature that would not be known if they did not go where they feared to tread. Start treating your ability with respect and honoring it, rather than thinking negatively about it.

Empower.

Trusting your empathic nature and feelings puts you in a direct conversation with your truth and your heart. Empaths emotional bodies are large and heart chakras quite open. This provides a lot of knowledge and can be empowering, but you have to first make the determination to accept your emotions and honor what you are feeling.

Awaken.

Being open to your feeling nature and going through each and every feeling, trusting where it is taking you, will put you on the path of awakening. Empaths have a nice start in understanding their own emotions and that of others very well. Beyond every transitory emotion, positive or negative, there is the truth beyond all emotion--your true nature. This is glimpsed by those who have the courage to move through all emotions with grace.

Soul Connections & Empathic Ability

Even in those who are not used to it, soul connections typically trigger a deep empathic resonance. The typical experience is being hit with your beloved's emotion out of nowhere when least expecting it.

This happens for a couple of reasons, obviously because you are connected on a soul level. It also imparts information about your soul connection's emotional state. Many people though do get confused in trying to determine what is theirs and what belongs to their soul connection.

The general rule is that if it is not something precipitated by your own thought process, and if you have an "ID tag" or feeling of energy signature, or a name/mental picture of your soul connection at the time of the emotion, it is not likely to be yours. Telepathy occurring with the emotion is also an indicator.

In these instances, when you are able, sit down with the emotion. Identify that it is not yours. Bless the person it is attached to, and set the intention to release it. Then follow up if appropriate.
