THOMPSON SKILLS WORKSHOPS | DECEMBER 6, 2019
Arthralgia workshop – intra-articular injections | IUD insertion

4.0 Mainpro+ and MOC Section 1 credits
This four hour course is for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical residents who want to become knowledgeable and proficient in assessing and relieving intraoral pain in a medical context. When you can’t call a dentist, you will be confident that you can provide the help and relief your patient needs with over-the-shoulder coaching after learning about the anatomy, barriers to use, advantages and disadvantages, and indications and contraindications for facial and dental regional anesthesia.
Learn how to:
  • Better manage multiple cardiac issues arising in your office practice
  • Improve patient education on the nature of proposed complex cardiac interventions
  • Clearly explain the issue of Advance Care planning with patients and families
  • Identify the indications for interventions upon certain valve lesions
This popular simulation-based hands-on workshop will focus on intra-articular and soft tissue injection techniques. 
Join us at the Samuel N. Cohen Auditorium at St. Boniface Hospital as we address essential topics in pediatric orthopaedics, hip and knee arthroplasty, and trauma. Additional talks will also cover subjects in rehabilitation, hip arthroscopy and arthroscopy and orthopaedic oncology. 
Participants will:
  • Increase their knowledge of the contemporary management of patients presenting with an acute myocardial Infarction from pre-hospital care to rehabilitation, in both urban and rural/remote settings
  • Increase their knowledge of the medications used in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, as well as the special considerations upon hospital discharge for these patients
