| | | | | | | | | | What a difference a week makes! The first two phases of our concrete floor slab have now been poured, completing approximately 10,000 square feet of flooring—about 60% of our new church home's footprint!
And now we're ready for the next phase! Concrete block is being delivered this week, and our masonry crew is expected to mobilize and begin constructing the walls on the north half of the building next week. As the block walls go up, we'll begin to get a much better sense of the building's size, layout, and the spaces that will eventually welcome our congregation.
Meanwhile, attention is also turning to the south half of the building, where testing will be conducted to determine whether the ground has dried sufficiently to resume bringing in and compacting fill dirt. Once conditions allow, that work can continue toward bringing the remaining portion of the building up to slab grade in preparation for its concrete floor.
With the first two slab pours behind us and wall construction about to begin, we're entering a much more visible stage of construction. Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement as our new church home continues to take shape!
Our
beautiful new Church Home is being built for us in wisdom, love, and
divine timing and we are ready to receive it!

This Sunday: The Other Side of Our Journey |
|
Jacob wrestling at the Jabbok and Israel being carried through the wilderness, as told in Genesis and Deuteronomy, show that God brings us through every stage of the journey. Vicky Alderman's song "The Other Side of My Journey" celebrates arriving at a brighter day, at peace and at rest.
Highlights:
Lyrics to "The Other Side of My Journey" by Vicky Alderman (2007):
I’m on the other side of my journey, a journey to a brighter day. I’m on the other side of my journey, the dark clouds have all rolled away. I’m on the other side of my journey, it was worth every minute, every step. I’m on the other side of my journey, I’m at peace and I am at rest.
*Leddy with Genghis Khan and the Buddha this past Sunday 😂 |

A Special Place for Our Youngest Churchgoers! |
|
Did you know we have a kids table set up at the back of our sanctuary every Sunday?
While we look forward to having dedicated Youth Ministry classrooms in our new building, we're making sure our youngest visitors have a place to feel welcome and comfortable right now!
Deanna, one of our wonderful Youth Ministry team members, is there to welcome the kids and help them feel at home. We have coloring activities and a couple of iPads available, and children are welcome to bring their own tablet or phone to enjoy quietly during the service.
We may be meeting in a school cafeteria for now, but we're still a church family—and that includes our kids!
So bring the whole family on Sunday! We'd love to see more young faces joining us.
And a big thank-you to Deanna for helping make this possible! ❤️ |
| Last Sunday's Shining Words:
"When Joseph’s brothers came, … he recognized them as soon as he saw them. But he concealed his own identity from them …" (Gen 42:6-7).
I need more Buddha in my life, a little less Genghis Khan. |

- “It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters, in the end” (Ernest Hemingway).
- "I tramp a perpetual journey ... Not I, not any one else can travel that road for you, You must travel it for yourself. It is not far, it is within reach, Perhaps you have been on it since you were born and did not know, Perhaps it is everywhere on water and on land" (Walt Whitman, Song of Myself).
- On the Spiritual Journey: "The first is the craving which makes [one] a pilgrim and a wanderer. It is the longing to go out from [ones] normal world in search of a lost home..." (Evelyn Underhill, Mysticism).
- "Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved” (Winnie the Pooh).
