We Are So Grateful!
Construction Update
This week, much of the work on our building project is focused on finding the best way forward with the earthwork inside the building footprint. Our construction team is consulting with dewatering specialists and evaluating several options that could allow the fill and compaction work to continue more effectively even when conditions are less than ideal.

While there may not be much new activity to see on the building itself right now, there is plenty happening behind the scenes. Our contractor is working through the available solutions while the project team continues coordinating the trades that will follow the earthwork, so we’ll be ready to move ahead as conditions allow.

We did have some very visible activity on the property this week. Several trees that were in the way of construction needed to be relocated, and fortunately they were healthy enough to be saved rather than removed. As you can see in the photo above, some of our magnolia trees were successfully transplanted to a new location on the property, where we will watch them continue to grow and thrive for many years to come.

As we all know very well by now, construction projects inevitably bring challenges that require patience, flexibility, and sometimes a little creativity. We’re grateful to have a team that is actively looking for solutions, and we remain confident that we’ll work our way through this particularly soggy chapter!

Our beautiful new Church Home is being built for us in wisdom, love, and divine timing and we are ready to receive it!

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Everything Changes
Highlights:

Lyrics to “Everything Changes” by Sue Riley and Tom Kimmel:

When everything changes, I can change anything.
Turning the pages, everything’s new.

If life’s little stages are teaching me anything,
it’s everything changes and I can change, too.

When everything changes, I can change anything.
Turning the pages, everything’s new.

If life’s little stages are teaching me anything,
it’s everything changes and I can change, too.

Bring the Kids to Church Every Sunday!!
After a long time coming, we’ve started something new—there’s now a kids table set up in the back every Sunday!

For this season, our services are all about being together as a family while we wait for our new building and dedicated kids spaces. It’s simple, but it feels like a really meaningful step forward.

Deanna has graciously stepped up to welcome and care for our kids each week. She’ll have coloring activities available, along with a couple of iPads for them to use. Kids are also welcome to bring a tablet or phone to enjoy quietly during the service.

A big thanks to Deanna for helping make this possible!
Last Sunday's Shining Words:

“Thus says the LORD: Cease your cries of weeping, hold back your tears! There is compensation for your labor—oracle of the LORD—they shall return from the enemy’s land. There is hope for your future…” (Jer.31:15-17).

You may not recall what you came here to do, but like a boomerang, it will come back to you.

What is Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT)

Your body is more powerful than you may imagine, filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing.

Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques that utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips, literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.

Gather with a great group of positive and supportive folks with healing in mind!

Healing Thought # 338
American theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971) composed the prayer in 1932–33. The prayer spread rapidly, often without attribution to Niebuhr, through church groups in the 1930s and 1940s and was adopted and popularized by Alcoholics Anonymous and other twelve-step programs. Niebuhr used it in a 1943 sermon at Heath Evangelical Union Church in Heath, Massachusetts. It also appeared in a sermon of Niebuhr's in the 1944 Book of Prayers and Services for the Armed Forces, while Niebuhr first published it in 1951 in a magazine column. Early versions of the prayer are given no title, but by 1955, it was being called The Serenity Prayer in publications of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Here is the short version of the poem, often used as a mantra to open and close AA meetings still today:

"God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference."
OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:

"LIKE THE AUTUMN LEAVES, I MEET CHANGE WITH GRACE."

THANK YOU, GOD!
