Upcoming Interfaith Gathering All Are Welcome & Encouraged to Attend Come Celebrate the Winter Solstice with Us! |
|
|
This Sunday! December 21 @ 5:30 PM Temple B'nai Israel 1685 South Belcher Road Clearwater, FL 33764
It's the Interfaith Gathering to celebrate the Winter Solstice!
Labyrinth Walk, Drum Circle, Hot Chocolate, Cider, Roasted Marshmallows & Smores at the Fire Pit and more!
Unity is providing warm apple cider and cups, but we'd love for y'all to bring cookies!
Note from Rabbi Michael Birnholz:
"Dear Belcher Road Interfaith friends,
In the wake of the awful attack on a Jewish community function at the start of Chanukah in Australia, we are going to shift the Light Labyrinth. Instead of being on our front yard near Belcher, we are going to set it up inside our social hall. We will keep the drum circle and social time in our courtyard with additional security from Largo Police. This will move the program inside our facility and be more secure. I hope these arrangements will make everyone feel safe and not dissuade participation. I'm looking forward to our gathering."
Rabbi Michael Birnholz
Note from Leddy:
This feels important that we stand with our friends who have been so kind to us, and attend the Light Labyrinth if we can Sunday evening anytime between 5 and 7 pm, even for just a little while. Darkness cannot drive away darkness; only Light can do that. Love and peace to all! Leddy

We spoke with our structural engineer today and he has signed off on the steel supplier's shop drawings. We're waiting for confirmation from our contractor, Bill Botelho, but the engineer believes that the supplier reached out to Bill to talk about a production and delivery schedule.
We remain very grateful for the steadfast faith of all those whose gifts of
love and substance sustain our Church during this time of transition.
We are very glad to welcome old friends and new friends on Sundays on our
home campus. Watch this space as we give thanks together that God is clearing the way for us to go forward.
Our
beautiful new Church Home is being built for us in wisdom, love, and
divine timing and we are ready to receive it!

This Sunday: Dell deChant - Light of the World |
|
Highlights:
From lyrics to “One Light” by Roger Tonhave:
We search for a light that will help us know that peace will grow. We are one Light, shining together, one Light, held high and bright -- one Light, whenever we gather, one people, one union, one Light.
One by one, each candle is lit, igniting a heavenly light…. a moment of peace like a prayer.
We are one Light, shining together, one Light, held high and bright, one Light, whenever we gather, one people, one union, one Light.

Last Sunday's Shining Words:
“This will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger” (Lk. 2:12).
Make of my heart a stable, Lord, glowing for miles in the darkness, so Love will find its way there. |

Wednesday Evening Spiritual Treatment |
|
Wednesdays
7:00-7:30 PM
On the first three Wednesdays of December, our prayer services will be based on the writings of Elizabeth Sand Turner in Your Hope of Glory: “In this remarkable book, Elizabeth Sand Turner presents a metaphysical study of Jesus and His teachings of The Gospels. With emphasis on the writings of Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore, she ties together his ideas with her own, presenting an enlightening account of the life of Jesus Christ from the time of His birth …. How are we drawn to Jesus Christ? What makes us spiritual beings?” On the last two Wednesdays of December, our holiday prayer services will be based on the writings of Myrtle Fillmore in How to Let God Help You. These special, contemplative services, led by The Rev. Dr. Leddy Hammock with music by our dear Sue Riley will be posted on FB to be accessed throughout the whole day on both Christmas Eve Day (Dec. 24) and New Year’s Eve Day (Dec. 31). |

“Jesus proclaimed: ‘I am the light of the world’ (Jn. 8:12). ‘You are the light of the world’ (Mt. 5:14) When He spoke thus He was speaking of this inner light which gives life and intelligence to all creation…. The development of this spiritual light is the destiny of us all …. All are radiant in a certain degree with this spiritual light, but especially those who have an understanding of Spirit and its universality. We feel the light and sometimes mentally see it flashing into expression when we have a spiritual uplift gained from a new idea of Truth.” (Charles and Cora Fillmore, Teach Us to Pray). |

OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:

LET MY LIGHT SHINE AND JOYOUSLY BEHOLD THE SPIRITUAL LIGHT OF EVERY PERSON.”
