PRETTI / PRETI Family Tree

WEDNESDAY 28 JANUARY 2026

Hello again, Friend,

Lynn Serafinn from Trentino Genealogy here.

By now, I am sure that most of you have heard about the tragic death of Alex Pretti of Minnesota, USA, an ICU nurse and a man of Trentino descent, who was killed on 24 January 2026.

I did not know Alex or his family, but within hours of his passing, I began receiving many emails and messages on Facebook from people asking me if I knew anything about his ancestry. Many wanted to know if they were related to Alex, as they also had family that came from the same part of Val di Non.

Thus, as a gesture of love, unity and our beautiful shared ancestry, I have created a 7 generation pedigree chart for the Trentino ancestors of the late Alex Pretti.

You can download a high-resolution PDF of this chart

7 Generation Pedigree - Alex Pretti

A MESSAGE FROM LYNN

The actual chart is much bigger and much higher resolution than the screenshot shown here, so be sure to download the actual PDF)

-- You also have my permission to share this link (or the chart) with others.

-- The link will expire in 6 months.

-- Today is my birthday, but this is my present to all of you.

This chart shows seven generations of Alex Pretti’s Trentino ancestors, back to his 5x great-grandparents. I researched this using the registers for several Trentino parishes, including Cagnò, Revò, Tregiovo, and Romeno, although several other parishes appear in his tree further back in time than what is shown in this chart.

I created this chart with the intention of sharing it with the Trentini community, so all of you can compare this information with your own family trees, as I know many of you will discover some type of cousin connection with Alex and his family. Any common ancestors between you and those on this chart mean that you and Alex are at least sixth cousins or closer.

You have my permission to download, share, print, or use this information, free of charge, but please retain my name and website as the source of the information.

DETAILS:

1. Please note that the original spelling of the surname in Trentino is PRETI (with a single T).

2. With respect to the family’s privacy, I have not included the names of his (American-born) parents or grandparents. In the interest of space, I have also not included the names of siblings of his ancestors, although I have researched them.

3. The chart shows names, dates, and places of all identified births, marriages, and deaths. Some dates (especially death dates) are estimates based on references in other records.

4. Note that I am using the modern nomenclature for the place names, so you can find them on a present-day map. The Province of Trento (a.k.a. Trentino) was not part of Italy until 1918. It was part of the Austrian and Austro-Hungarian Empires throughout the 19th century, and prior to that it was an autonomous principality headed by the Prince-Bishops of Trento, and under the greater dominion of the Holy Roman Empire.

MY THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Political landscapes are constantly changing.
Our common ancestry is not.
Let us remain focussed on our permanent and precious commonality,
rather than on our transitory differences.

Just a quick reminder, if you are not yet a member of our Trentino Genealogy group on Facebook, I hope you'll join us there. You just might meet some long-lost cousins.

Until next time, I wish you well.

Warm wishes,

Lynn Serafinn
