Subject: The powerful are funding their vision. Who is funding ours?

You've already made our work possible. If you're able, we'd be grateful if you would stand with TNI once again.

Dear Friend,

It is a sombre reality that just when we need more powerful movements challenging the rise of fascism, tech tyranny and militarism, that the funding base for many organisations like ourselves has collapsed. This is not a coincidence. It is a deliberate attempt by the most powerful corporate elites to repress a global civil society that the New York Times once called the ‘second super-power’ after the global anti-Iraq war movement brought millions onto the streets in 2003.

TNI faces these pressures directly. Public funding has declined dramatically as governments prioritise military spending, while some philanthropic support has been withdrawn because of our unequivocal support for Palestinian liberation. As a result, we increasingly rely on supporters like you to sustain our work.

We believe, like you, that change fundamentally comes from people organising from the bottom-up. It is important that our funding reflects that too. This needs a cultural shift where as activists worldwide we recognise that we must both organise and fundraise together to build the institutions, ideas and policies we need for a more just world.

So today, we are asking you to please make another donation to TNI. If you are able please consider making a gift of €25, or whatever amount feels meaningful to you.

TNI is the glue that connects ideas to movements that have the most potential to take on today’s elites. We are one of the few internationalist institutions that looks at the big picture of where capitalism is going, that connects struggles across all continents, that brings together academics with activists, media and policy-makers to put forward transformative proposals to resolve today’s crises.

We know you already generously support our work, and that your inbox is filled with fundraising appeals. That is why, above all, we want to thank you. Your support means far more than a financial contribution. It is a reminder that we are part of a shared struggle for justice and that we are not doing this work alone. Thank you.

In solidarity,
