Hello Friend, 

One of my favourite game design exercises is to mash games together… and it’s a great activity for kids too. 

Find a game that has an interesting board. Then choose a second game with an array of fun components. What happens when you combine the components from one game with the board from another? 

For example, why not put the characters and props from Meeple Circus onto the colourful Hues and Cues board? Or perhaps you could use the roads, houses and cities from Catan on a snakes and ladders board? Or maybe the bamboo, panda and gardener from Takenoko could find an inspirational new home on a chess board? 

Remember… You can always use my mantra: “If this was a game, what game would it be?”
