TFA will soon be rolling out new advocacy tools to help TFA members and supporters more effectively communicate with state legislators

This week I will take training on how to use an "advocacy" package that TFA is planning to offer in 2023. It is a service that will allow TFA to hopefully increase member and supporter engagement by putting out "Call to Action" alerts in our emails and on social media.

Those calls will link to an email / letter generator that is structured to allow individuals to easily send topic specific emails/letters to their individual state legislators and, when appropriate, committee members to support or oppose specific legislation that TFA is tracking.

There are a few things to know and do:

1) First, these call to action notices will normally be distributed through the TFA's legislative alert emails. These are free and you don't have to be a TFA member to receive them. But you do need to be on the free email list - https://tennesseefirearms.com/subscribe-tfa/

2) There is no cost to use this feature (aside from what TFA is paying). We do welcome supplemental member contributions to offset the cost which is around $7500 per year just for the "advocacy" module and excluding the cost of our email alert system itself and the cost of the legislative tracking service. All in TFA's costs for these services is around $15,000 per year but will go up as more people subscribe to the email service (it is based on the size of our lists).

3) We want to get as many people as possible aware of the email alert list offering and the advocacy feature. We will be monitoring its use to see if enough people are using it and if it is having an impact on legislators (which we think it will).

4) We also plan to post "call to actions" on our FB page and on our renewed Twitter (post Musk) account. But the quickest and surest way to get the call to action alerts will be through the email alert system.

5) We want to encourage you to share these resources with others and encourage them to take advantage, be informed and become a 2nd Amendment advocate as well.
