TFA pushed for Constitutional Carry and
other basic 2nd Amendment reforms in 2015 and in 2016.
We had solid sponsors
and strong bills. While at least 4 other states (Mississippi, Missouri, Idaho and West
Virginia) passed Constitutional Carry laws, Tennessee's elected officials who
promised things like Constitutional Carry started stonewalling and blocked the
free exercise of your rights when it was time to vote! The bills were filed and moving through the committee system when the leadership called for them to be "stopped" before they were ever even debated on the floors.
There are many good legislators in both parties
working to support your rights. But, it is clear that there are too many who are
not willing to stand up for your rights as citizens. They ‘talk the talk’ but
their actions - or lack thereof - tell the true story of their
priorities.
To insure that TFA can continue to be an
effective organization and overcome the efforts of anti-gun politicians in
Tennessee, we need your support as much as ever! You are not just a part of TFA – you are
TFA.
But your membership in TFA is just not enough
when legislative leadership controls which bills are heard on the floor.
When these floor votes are blocked, you are disenfranchised as a citizen because
most legislators do not even get the chance to debate and vote on these
issues.
Joining and supporting TFA is an investment in
the fight to restore our constitutional rights and to fight against politicians
who are willing to sell their votes and your rights to whichever business
interest gives them the most money!

But Wait! There is also an urgent message from the TFA's PAC, the Tennessee Firearms Association Legislative Action Committee.
Sometimes its just not enough to join a grassroots organization. Sometimes, you have to make the commitment to join the fights. You see, the TFALAC is supporting candidates this year (several in the Senate races and as many as 20 in various state house races) that are critical to changing the leaderhsip that has been the real problem for the last 6 years in passing Constitutional Carry and eliminating gun free zones in Tennessee.
This is an election year which carries with it special burdens on us to support those candidates who we think will best protect our rights. Right now, we are in tough fights in at least two Senate races (including the one left open by Ron Ramsey's retirement) and we are also fighting in many House races like in District 61 where the TFALAC is supporting Steve Gawrys in a race to defeat the Establishment's "shadow operative" Charles Sargent.
We know that some of these incumbents who need to go have tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in their Big Business funded campaign accounts. Some have the backing of Establishment leaders across Tennessee. Please go now and contribute $25, $50, $100, $250, $1,000 or more to help raise the funds that the PAC needs now to invest in their campaigns.
