Subject: "Women are less reliable...and deserve less pay"

Oh, I already know that heads are gonna roll for this email...and mine will be first in line.

There's this Idaho senator up for re-election who recently stated that women in the workplace are far less reliable than their male counterparts. They are chronically late, they ask for time off much more often, they use sick days when they're not even sick, and they take maternity leave "because they can".

The first time I read this article, I was ready to drive cross-country to Idaho and help dude change genders overnight.

But then I started thinking about it....

He makes a couple of valid points about us women.

Now before you come to my house and hog-tie me to a tree, keep reading for just a few.

He says that women have dependability issues because we may or may not show up for things. He's right, you know. When it comes down to work or family, most women that I know will put their family as first priority - no question. If Junior or Little Chica is not keeping breakfast down, then Mama is staying home and will try her best to make other arrangements with work. Dependable - for her family - and rightfully so.

He also noted that women will use sick leave days for reasons other than them being sick. True again. Women don't have enough PTO (paid time off) days provided to them through their company for things like sports practices, dance and music recitals, or sometimes graduation ceremonies. So they use whatever is available to them, and many times it's sick leave.

So yeah, us women may be "less reliable" at the office.

But we also are the real MVPs.

Ya dig?

And for those women who sacrifice equal pay for their family (and men who feel like they shouldn't be put down in the workplace on a daily basis), look, it doesn't have to continue to be like this.

Make the decision to work on YOURSELF before you work on your job.

Start looking at creating your own economy from the house. It's totally doable, when you are aligned with the right people.
