Since it's National Sewing Month in the USA, let's review. Sure-Fit Designs has primarily always been about getting the best fit possible. Both beginners as well as advanced seamstresses benefit from getting a good fit as easily as possible. There's no point in putting the effort into construction unless the results are going to fit. But how do you sew the garment together? SFD does offer general sewing construction steps, but if you do need basic lessons in sewing construction, you may want to investigate the following three resources.

Though I've not personally experienced either of these sites/programs, I've had customers who have learned a tremendous amount about sewing construction skills from both informational sources. If you're needing sewing construction assistance, please evaluate these for yourself.
3. ASG - American Sewing Guild
-another great source for learning sewing construction skills.
There's no reason to be frustrated when sewing it all together. There are so many benefits of being an ASG member, and one of them is learning the details of sewing construction with their instructional videos. The 'Let's Talk' sewing series with ASG includes: Creating beautiful seams, various types of seam finishes, information on pressing tools, how to create welt pockets and bound buttonholes, basic sewing terminology and so much more! The information is presented as individual segments and short video snippets demonstrating the sewing topic. National Sewing Month sees a Sewing Resurgence
We all hoped it would happen in time...and now it is. Sewing is making a come back with the younger generation! In one of our latest Costco magazines (of all places), there is an article devoted to this very topic. Where the 'Gen X'er's' sewed not at all, the next generation is using sewing, knitting and the hand arts as a means of personal, creative expression, as well as creating something practical and useful. Thanks to today's technology, it makes it even easier to create. As an ex-home economics teacher, I welcome this renewed sewing enthusiasm no matter the reasons. A big welcome is extended to all of our new sewing enthusiasts!
