Our first week of summer reading is behind us, and we're ready to start crunching the numbers! We have 165 summer readers summer readers so far, including 115 new accounts and 50 returning from last year.
This is a great time to remind everyone: if you forgot your account password from last year, call 860-828-7126 or visit the reference desk.
I also want to remind everyone to play by the rules... please only include books that you started reading on or after June 12. We're on the honor system, so let's all play fair. We've contacted a few readers privately to remind them of the rules.

Looking for the latest and greatest? Check out our new books page, or sign up for our weekly new books newsletter. New books are added to these lists as soon as we order them—before they even arrive at the library. You'll see them even before I do, and I'm the one who prints all the spine labels.

Skip the line for recent bestsellers with out Lucky Day collection. This collection includes extra copies of the newest bestsellers that are flying off the shelves. They're first come first served—no holds allowed. If you see it on the shelf, it's your lucky day!

Open only to registered summer readers, the recently read page lists every book read in this year's summer reading program.
Want to see last year's books? Switch back into last year's program using the "change programs" link on the summer reading home page. Your 2023 books will still be there when you switch back.

POP-what?
In January of this year, the library introduced our first ever year-long reading program for adults: the 2023 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge.
This challenge uses a list of reading prompts from the popular POPSUGAR website, including 50 reading prompts, from specific (“book with a rabbit on the cover”) to vague (“book your friend recommended”). You earn a fun reading-themed pin for every five books you read!
Best of all… the books you read between June 12 and September 1 count for the year-long challenge AND summer reading.
To participate, visit the Reference Desk to pick up a copy of the reading prompt list. Once you finish five books, visit again to choose your (super cool) pin!
