Off to a great start!

Adult Summer Reading registration is open, and we already have over 80 participants! (If you haven't started yet, register here!)

Readers have already finished over 120 books so far... wow! If you're looking for ideas on what to read next, check out the library's Reading Recommendations page for themed book lists, staff picks, and personalized reading lists.

Prizes, prizes, prizes!

The first raffle will be held on July 9, with two winners! Winners will be drawn at random (unfortunately there are no raffle buckets to pick your prize this year).

Here's what you could win:
Berlin and the Thousand Paper Cranes

As part of this year's Connecticut Summer Reading theme, Imagine Your Story, the library is celebrating the story of Sadako Sasaki and her thousand folded paper cranes.

Starting July 10, Berlin and the Thousand Paper Cranes invites all our friends in Berlin and beyond to join us in a town-wide project of making one thousand paper cranes, to symbolize a collective wish for health, hope, and peace. Craft kits will be available for curbside pickup!

To kick of the project on July 9, you're invited to On the Wings of Wishes, a storytelling event for all ages. We'll listen to storyteller Andrea Kamens retelling the the true story of Sadako Sasaki folding a thousand paper cranes, and other related tales.
A little glitch.

This is our first time using the Great Reading Adventure software, which was developed by a library district in Arizona, with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. It has a lot of neat options to customize the program—which is great!—but we made a little mistake when setting it up.
The "log minutes" button should read "log books."

We're working on fixing the button text, but otherwise it works just fine. Enter the number of books you've read (probably "1"), title, and author, and we'll just pretend the button says "log books." 😉
