Week 2 of Summer Reading!

It's the second week of summer reading, and we have 204 adult summer readers as of Thursday afternoon, with an impressive 327 books finished. That's some great progress since last week!

A few of you have told us that our site doesn't allow you to put your tickets in the raffle for the $20 gift card to Safari Mini Golf. Thanks for catching that and letting us know! We'll get that fixed on Monday when our Summer Reading Site Guru returns from a few well-deserved days off, and we apologize for the confusion. This is a great time to remind everyone that you can move tickets around to different raffles up until the time we draw the winner. If you want to put your tickets into the drawing for Safari, please check back on Tuesday.

This Year's Prize Cart

We're super excited about this year's prize cart! Personally, I've got my eyes on those literary-themed socks. If you'd like to see the prizes in person (or just say hello) come visit the Adult Reference Desk.

Redeem two tickets for a mini prize! Mini prizes include bookmarks, literary stickers, candy, and Berlin-Peck swag.

Redeem five tickets for a small prize! Small prizes include wooden puzzles, puzzle light headbands (a must-have for jigsaw puzzle fans), fancier bookmarks, coupons for a free coffee pod at the front desk, and coupons for a free book from the Friends Book Sale.

Redeem ten tickets for a medium prize! Medium prizes include puzzle books, book journals, literary-themed glass cups and travel mugs, literary-themed socks, and a few other fun knick-knacks.

Redeem fifteen tickets for a large prize! Large prizes include books (of course), puzzles, games, Berlin-Peck totes, and coupons for a free bag at the next Friends Book Sale bag sale.

Team Progress

The heat this week must have had The Book Worms trying to cool off with the breeze made by flipping pages, because they're in first place, with 55 books. Hot on their heels are The Underliners with 53 books and The Literary Legends with 51. The Hidden Gems stormed out of the starting space with 47 books, followed by The Book Besties with 42, and The Cliffhangers with 41. Finally, but still very much in the race are The Reading Rangers with 39 books. Way to go!

Leaderboard

pearlmsqueaks holds onto first place from last week, followed by Cathy and TheRantingGnome close behind. In fourth place, we have a five-way tie between ntine10, ALigas, eileenw33, kkbr1923, and morganh. Rounding out our Top 10, LaraMalcarne and Summer2023 are tied for 5th place.
