Subject: DOUBLE the raffles!

Two raffles every week!

We're about halfway through summer reading, but there are still ten raffles to go. That means starting this week, we'll be pulling TWO raffles every week. Plus, hang on to your yellow booklet—we'll have one last raffle on August 22, and your booklet is your raffle ticket.

Congratulations to the winner of the Baseball Break raffle basket, Elizabeth (winner #103!) This basket received 65 tickets from 20 different participants.

Aren't comic books just for kids?

Nope! And we tend to call them "graphic novels" now—at least when they're not about superheros. If you've never read a graphic novel before, try something new (and complete your graphic novel reading challenge) with one of these picks!

Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh
This quirky collection of illustrated essays and cartoons includes stories about the author's sugar-obsessed childhood, her neurotic dogs, her battles with depression.
The Mental Load by Emma
These simple line drawing shine light all that invisible and unpaid organizing, list-making and planning women do to manage their lives, and the lives of their family members, in a straightforward way that is both hilarious and deadly serious.
Out on the Wire: The Storytelling Secrets of the New Masters of Radio by Jessica Abel with Ira Glass
Go behind the scenes of some of today's most popular narrative radio shows and podcasts, including This American Life and RadioLab, to discover the storytelling techniques behind these beloved programs.
Saga by Brian K. Vaughan
When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old universe. A sweeping family epic that's perfect for fans of Star Wars and Game of Thrones.
Sandman by Neil Gaiman
This classic series by New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman follows Dream, the personification of dreams, on his quest to rebuild his kingdom after a 70-year imprisonment. A mind-bending blend of mythology, history, and horror. Soon to be a Netflix series!
Troublemaker by Janet Evanovich and Alex Evanovich
A man has gone missing and to find him Alex Barnaby and NASCAR driver Sam Hooker will have to go deep into the underbelly of Miami and south Florida, surviving Petro Voodoo, explosions, gift-wrapped body parts, a deadly swamp chase, and Hooker's mom.
What to Do When I'm Gone by Suzy Hopkins and Hallie Bateman
When Bateman came the realization that someday Hopkins, her mother, would die, it became a catalyst to begin recording step-by-step instructions to take her through the days, months, and years of life after loss. The project became a way for mother and daughter to connect with humor, honesty, and gratitude.

We'll post your images on social media throughout the summer. If you'd like to remain anonymous, don't worry—there are plenty of ways to create a bookface without showing your actual face!

Learn more (and see some awesome examples) from the New York Times article Oh, Those Clever Librarians and Their #Bookface.
