Week 8 of Summer Reading!

It's the 8th week of summer reading! We're up to 272 adult summer readers, with a total of 2227 books finished—that's right, we're well over two thousand! Will be beat last year's record?

Prizes, prizes, prizes!

Congratulations to Cathy! With 11 ticket in this raffle—the most for any raffle winner this year!—Cathy is the winner of a gift card to Home Depot. There are still three raffles left, and tons of great prizes on the prize cart, so keep reading!

Don't forget to register for the Reader's Retreat to enjoy your hard-won mocktails, cookies, and ice cream toppings! And of course, come socialize with other summer readers at your team's Meet Your Team event.

What We're Reading (and Buying)

You might be familiar with our Staff Picks shelf, but did you know we're also on Goodreads? Visit our Goodreads page to see an overview of what your favorite Berlin-Peck staff members are reading, or check out picks from Andrea, Anne, Ashley, Carrie, Lindsay (our newest Adult Reference Librarian), Melinda, and Mike (who is doing very well at his new job!)

More interested in the latest new books? Make sure you're signed up for our Wowbrary newsletter to receive a weekly list of new books, movies, and music. New items go into Wowbrary before they even arrive at the library, so you'll be the first to know!

Team Progress

The Book Besties and The Reading Rangers are closing in on the finish line, with 348 and 321 books respectively. The Underliners have also passed the three-hundred mark, with 303 books. The Cliffhangers are close behind at 292, followed by The Literary Legends with 272, and The Hidden Gems with 264. Already past the finish line, The Book Worms have reached 427 books.

For the first time in eight weeks, each team is on its own square!

It's our second week with no ties! pearlmsqueaks stays in first place, with calbain holding steady in second. equintana makes an entrance in third. Cathy, his week's raffle winner, is in fourth and szy09 in fifth place. TheRantingGnome takes sixth, followed by sharonkay in seventh and ntine10 in eighth. amjastern holds ninth, and Beth rounds out the top ten in tenth place.
