Let’s break down how I went from dreaming to reality and show you how following the principles and sticking to the plan always pays off.
The first piece of advice I received was to buy the handles/replicas of the Dinnie Stones.
Performing a 300kg deadlift has nothing to do with lifting the Dinnies; you must grasp handles of different sizes, and the lift is asymmetrical (188.02kg front stone; 144.47kg back stone). Training with a traditional bar would not have given me the specific experience such a feat demands.
Second, it was strongly suggested that I alternate my front hand positioning to avoid injury to my back due to that asymmetric load.
I knew from the beginning how I was going to program: Plan Strong™.
I have attended many seminars, tested on myself and my students numerous times, and always delivered results.
But this time I had to take an interesting approach.
I didn’t know my true 1RM with the handles, so for the first time in ages, I had to approach a lift blindfolded. |
