Subject: A strong finish for your one-arm kettlebell swing

Real kettlebell magic starts when you reach moderately heavy weights, such as 24kg for ladies and 32kg for gents in one-arm swings.

A bell of this size will try to pull you off balance near the top of a one-arm kettlebell swing. To counter it, practice the following partner drill by StrongFirst Certified Master Instructor Zar Horton.

Stand strong with one arm in front of you, imitating the finish of a one-arm swing.

Your partner will try to break your structure and pull you off balance by pulling back on your arm while pushing the top of your pelvis back. Gently.

Your job is to resist.

Maintain a strong standing plank. Dig your heels into the ground. Cramp your glutes.

Stay squared off. Keep your shoulder packed: draw your straight arm into your body like a turtle does with its head.

When you got the feeling, reproduce it at the finish of your swings.
